He's well known in SoCal as a conservative voice, and he is likely to get a lot of minority votes from low-information Libs who will assume he's one of them because he's black.
I have a lot of Hispanic clients who own their own businesses, and most are conservative, so I see this number increasing to 60-65 percent by election time. Hispanic workers will be told by their business owners that recall is the best way to insure a good life for their families through economic growth and higher wages.
Among racial groups, Black and Asian voters were in favor of keeping Newsom. White voters were evenly split and a majority of Hispanic voters said they would vote to remove Newsom. Asked what they believed to be the top issues facing California today, voters said homelessness was the top issue with housing, COVID-19, crime and the environment following
Are we going to play by the same rules as the idiot liberals and call anyone who doesn't support Larry Elder a racist? For the record, Larry Elder would be my vote if I still lived in CA. Question for the class, Do you think the lefties are going to twist themselves into pretzels trying to defend their hypocrisy or do you think we'll just get crickets out of them on the subject?
And is "quietly" backing the white dude from SD....Another Hmm. So maybe your party, Oops I mean the republican party is still holding to form, do we really want a Black Guy?...I'd file this under "you can't teach an old hooker a new position"...lol And now I'm glad you like Elder, you just planted the kiss of death on this guy based on your track record.
The California GOP hasn’t endorsed anyone, and they are not going to. Falconer has supporters, but as of now Elder is leading in polling and fundraising.
They haven't outwardly endorsed anyone, yet. But the big donors aren't Elder supporters...they're holding back. And here's something to think about..Elder has raised about 4.5M, Newsom has a 45M warchest I'm not sure if you're from Calif. But you seem pretty wound up about this.
He had a press conference over the weekend and was nasty and petulant with reporters who kept asking questions about the recall. He wanted to talk about climate change. A climate change in Sacramento is what we really need.
Re: I fucking love Righties "We don't give one flying fuck what a celebrity thinks and they should keep their fucking mouths shut.......unless they agree with us. Then, what they say will make us decide who to vote for."
He doesn't have the backing of the California Republican Party...If the end game is to replace Newsom why wouldn't they jump on board and go all in on Elder?...Could it be that the Rep Party is holding to form or maybe Elder's not the right person after all....Too Radical? Won't toe the line? He's some kinda Jive turkey here?....Come on righties help me out.
Several aspects of recall strategy have led the CA GOP to forego endorsing a candidate. But the key one is money. 1. California Recall Financing Law. There are no limits on Newsom’s fundraising for Vote No on the recall. He’s raking in tens of millions from Silicon Valley and Hollywood donors. The Republican candidates, on the other hand, are operating under limits set for gubernatorial campaign contributions. From a fiscal standpoint, it benefits the GOP to have many individual candidates raising money to throw against Newsom’s fiscal juggernaut.
2. Avoid Unnecessary Intra-Party warfare. If the state party endorses one candidate, all the shunned candidates will feel robbed, and their supporters’ enthusiasm will dampen. Remember the main goal of the party is ousting Newsom, who replaced him is secondary. Basically the cost of endorsing a candidate (pissing off voters and stakeholders) isn’t worth the end result (being able to say “We Endorse X” when a State Party endorsement is not likely to increase turnout or be a key to winning the recall. Newsom has the fundraising advantage. Polling shows Republicans have the enthusiasm advantage. An endorsement out of party HQ in Sacramento would only dampen enthusiasm.
Happy suspects that it’s because higher ups in the GOP don’t like Elder. That might factor in somewhat as the party faithful fill the ranks of state leadership, and there must be loyalties to those GOP politicians have put in the time. From that perspective, I can imagine there are GOP loyalists who view Elder as a Johnny Come Lately.
And I can say that it's not just the higher up in the GOP that don't want Elder, they may like him on radio but Gov, nah.The core base would rather have Faulconer or Cox...Elder doesn't fit. But when you have a field of 24 GOP candidates running, any poll will be diluted. Not one of these candidates would beat Newsom on a one on one elections. bur this recall isn't about the best GOP candidate, it's just to get the "Yes" vote and let the chips fall.
