A thread below made me think of this.  It would be awesome to see a debate between MSNBC and Fox.  I would buy that pay-per-view.  Both should be thoroughly ashamed to call themselves news agencies.  They are absurdly partisan and should portray themselves as such.

I really would love to see that debate.

Tell me why Obama won't do town hall style debates with McCain? Where the actual real american folks get to ask the questions. Not some pompous new hack with a dog in the show. He won't do them because he won't know what the questions are beforehand and be able to (or rather have his staff) carefully craft an answer that isn't a real position or really says anything of substance.

He failed miserably at (I apologize, forgot the name of it) the one where McCain answered questions he didn't know beforehand and then Obama had to answer the same questions. Why? He could'nt just say PRESENT. He had to take a stand or say 150 words without really saying anything. He just is not ready. And the world is too dangerous for him to practice.

Obama's style does not play well to "average folks."  McCain is more culturally similar to small town America so Obama doesn't want to debate in that forum.  Obama favors cerebral debate on well considered issues, not off the cuff rhetoric and opinions.

Okey dokey....hell ma...let's git our guns and bibles and head for the celler. So much for his "being in touch" with the people.......typical elitist liberal. The rest of us ordinary folk are too dumb to think for ourselves...... Also nice to knwo that the American people's opinions don't count cause they are too stupid. I guess in your world only the "highly edjucated" intellectual elites would have a say in what we think or do. Seems to me we kicked out the elites back in the late 1700s
and managed to build the greatest nation on Earth with a bunch of no count red necks.

Your answer DOES scare me. Becasue that means he is soooo out of touch with the average Joe.....he cannot even answer a questions from us. Good answer Red Baron. Wrong!, but good answer nonetheless. Even you should be given pause by what you just stated.

Cerebral debate.....good lord....now I HAVE heard it all.
