Monmouth poll before and after the hearings

Americans are less likely to blame former President Donald Trump for the events at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 despite the U.S. Select Committee’s January 6 hearings accusing Trump of misconduct, according to a poll released Tuesday.

Monmouth University Polling Institute asked U.S. adults in June if Trump was “directly responsible” for the events on Jan. 6 before the committee’s five public hearings aired on prime-time news. Forty-two percent of voters said Trump should take the blame, the poll reported.

Conversely, after the committee’s hearings attempting to prove Trump encouraged and condoned the violence on Jan. 6, just 38% of voters believed Trump was “directly responsible,” the poll found. This is a 4-point drop since Cassidy Hutchinson’s appearance, according to Monmouth University.

The poll director seemed distressed by the results:
“The sensational revelations during the hearings do not seem to have moved the public opinion needle on Trump’s culpability for either the riot or his spurious election fraud claims,” Monmouth University Polling Institute director Patrick Murray said in the poll

started when Pelosi refused to let Jim Jordan sit on the committee. The public realized they were only hearing one side, and even so, it wasn't that bad.  No smoking gun.

Exactly. No smoking gun. A big yawn for America.

She was down 5 points in her Congressional race before the televised hearings.  Now she's down 10.  Primary is next Tuesday.  Old WMD Dick can't save her.

You know the Jan 6th committee was going to be a snoozer.
and now the FL raid by Garland.....still sore for not making it onto the SC.

Basically, no one gives a shit.

Dems are throwing EVERYTHING (including Jizzy/Sticky's balls) on the wall and HOPING something will stick....

Before the Nov Mid-Term elections......

Adam SHIT, Jamie-crybaby Raskin.....  hear that flushing sound?   your careers plugging up the shitter....

In addition to the 38% of those polled who said trump was directly responsible there's another 26% who said he encouraged those involved. So nearly 2/3 of respondents thought he was responsible  either directly or indirectly.

And your 2/3’s stat doesn’t align with polls showing Trump beating Biden in 2024.

You cited the poll but gave an incomplete and misleading account of the findings. Nothing new there. 64% of those polled answered that trump was either directly or indirectly responsible. It's 2022. I don't care about hypothetical 2024 presidential polling. I don't think either Biden or trump will be on the ballot in 2024.

Biden will be in a memory-care facility, happy and smiling, with melted ice cream running down his chin.  Trump will be mounting the biggest political comeback since Grover Cleveland, and that's why the Dems are shitting themselves.  Trump does not have the constraints of worrying about re-election this time, so he will do what he should have done last time, and that is clear the deep state bureaucrats out of DC and bring in new blood that will be loyal to the Constitution, not the Democrats.

New blood loyal to trump for sure. Loyal to the constitution not a chance.
