The facts just keep on pouring in, they all say the same thing. As Penn & Teller would say "Ethanol is Bulshit"

How much more proof do we need?

Those that are making money from Government handout (tax payer) dollars thinks it is great idea.

The simple truth is you ain't going to grow your way out energy problem. What is needed is intelligent, technological approach to discover and use all form of energy.

I am surprised no one is talking about Gas Hydrate which is a naturally occurring phenomenon in oceans and the current estimate is 3 trillion Cubic Feet, far, far greater than Oil. Gas Hydrates produces lot less green house gases.

Congress passed a bill in 2000. Since we cannot drill off shore, USGS is studying Gas Hydrates in cooperation with Indian Gas Hydrate Research.

Don't know why none of the politicians talks about its enormous potential. Opps, I am thinking politicians are informed and intelligent, my bad.

It seems like Indians and South Asians are really starting to get interested in this subject both in India as well as investors of Indian origin in the USA. I read an article on the Bay Area Venture Capitalist Vinod Khosla (sun microsystems) just yesterday. The gist of the article is that he is investing millions of his own dollars to fund research in this arena to try and help solve the issue of alternative fuel and energy products as  he feels he should be working towards to helping our planet.

Using your food for gas just never ever sounded right as far as commonsense goes, IMO.

Brazil has made it work and imports very little oil, much less than they grow. still I can't help but wonder if they are not just one bad storm or locust plague from trouble.

but not neccessarily because of ethanol. This link is rather old news. Brazil estimates that they have tripled their proven reserves to somewhere north of 30 Billion BBLS.

Brazil has always produced a decent amount of oil, their recent discoveries of late will make them a significant oil exporter in the near future. hmmmm. Maybe "we" could learn something from this. Nah, Fuck drilling for oil, lets just tax the oil cos instead. Fucking morons
