well I'm trying to make this a bit more of a (ridiculous) analogy to the DC situation.  So here goes It seems to me that the Braves would have reason to seek to change the outcome if the Dodgers management had, while the Dodgers were at bat, extended the stands toward the field so that the  Dodgers player foul popup could not be caught for an out, but was just a foul ball into the stands.  But when the Braves asked for the same extension during their at bats, it was refused.
