The NYT best seller list is updated every Wednesday evening based on sales in the previous week up until Saturday night.
Amazon bases its best seller list on pre-release orders. BTW, do you now how many books ordered it takes to be #1 on Amazon? 3,500-5,000 in 24 hours. LOL, that's very influential in a country of 330 million, isn't it?
