When Biden dropped out, I immediately advocated for Harris to be the replacement.  And Dems were cornered due to their identity politics to do just that.  Had they actually followed Obama's advice and run a mini primary they could have picked a candidate that was NOT part of the unpopular Biden team.  And someone who was good at retail politics, like interacting with the press, etc.  This was a real threat to Trump but skin color and gender made it essentially impossible.

Had Biden dropped out earlier and let the party pick a new candidate, I think they might have actually won the election.

Also there are those who say the Republicans would have done better with someone other than Trump.  But the pollsters who correctly predicted Trump winning this election also poll tested other candidates and Trump always came out on top. He's a populist and gets broader support than more ideologically aligned conservatives and moderates.

Destine for obscurity -- Kamala, of course.
Loser Liz Cheney.  No party really wants her.  She was a useful idiot.

Winners: Vance, RFKjr, Vivek, Tulsi.

He'll get a pardon now which will have no political ramifications to Democrats. I expect the pardon to occur within days if not hours.

there was no doubt He was going to get a pardon after the election no matter who won.

Supposedly in the works is a deal to have respective governors pardon Trump on all state charges, Biden on all federal charges, and then pardon Hunter.  This seems plausible.

I wouldn't put it past Trump to have it overturned by an appellate court.  He has the money to go all the way to the Supreme Court, and we know in each case there were judicial errors and bias that warrant a new trial.  By accepting a pardon, Trump is agreeing to be guilty of the charges that he has already been convicted on, but the charges that are pretrial can just be dismissed.

On the other hand, why do anything?  He will be in the history books as the only convicted felon who was elected President.  It's not likely to ever happen again.  Lol

It is not required to admit guilt to receive a pardon.  Although that was implied in the dicta of Burdick v. USA, in  Lorance v. Commandant, the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled "If the Court had meant to impute other, legal consequences to the acceptance of a presidential pardon, it surely would have said so explicitly..."  meaning that the President could have made that a condition of accepting the pardon, but in this case he hadn't and therefore the 10 Circuit ruled that accepting the pardon was not an admission of guilt.

The Democrats nominating Kamala was most certainly a gift to the Republicans.

But I beg to differ re Trump versus other Republicans.  If my memory serves me correctly, other Republicans fared better against Biden in head to head polling than Trump did. If there were polls to the contrary, I don’t recall seeing them.

Mark Mitchell at Rasmussen polled this and said repeatedly that Trump polled strongest.

For Tulsi Gabbard.i don’t know what form it will take but… I bet her military career sees a star or two.
