As to Goldwater and Ike, you may like them now. The whole left quotes them now.  Ah, time have changed. Now the enemies of the left, denigrated and cursed, are the new heroes.  I can't wait until Nixon and Reagan are venerated by the Dems. That will be in about six years.

At the time, Goldwater and Ike were stupid.  Goldwater was viewed as crazy as you describe Bachman now. As I say, the motto re Goldwater was "In your heart you know he's nuts." Sounds like what you are saying now.

YOu say when someone displays massive ignorance, you call them on that.  57 states, the motto of the U.S., Europe as a country, FDR as pres when the stock market crashed and going on TV.  Did youcall them on it then?  I could go on for pages about the stupid things Biden and Obama said.  

I only watched the first part of the video.  I don't know about Rezzo and his politics, but the basic theory that Obama had a history of hanging out with people who are anti-American cannot be denied. From Ayers, to Wright, to van Jones, to Alinsky, this is the truth. He had that other appointment of a woman whose had Mao as a hero.  Yes, I think he does have a history of hanging around with people who can be called anti-Amernican, unless you think that "God Damn America" is a slogan of patriotism. And he hung out there for 20 tyears.

Do what you want with it, but I really don't see anything so insanely outrageous about saying he hung out with people that are not in the "God bless America" crowd.

Finally, I wasn't defending Bachman, per se. I was commenting on the fact that this is a pattern of the left.  (I do think when someone has a history as a successful attorney to just say she is a crazy loon is a little weird.)

Mr. Priapus should stick to defending facts instead of making up stuff. Bachman never mentioned McCarthy in that clip. Leave to the left to distort her plea for the Press to simply start doing their job during the 2008 campaign. It’s now well known the press pretty much ignored Obama’s ties to certain people. If the press had done their job exposing those connections, the 2008 election just might have turned out differently. But in typical leftist style, you’d rather have the Insult than the Truth.

Since you like to get your education from internet video clips, let’s see what you can pick up from the hesitancies of Tom Brokaw and Charlie Rose taking about what they don’t know about Obama just a couple of days before the 2008 election.

BTW, just because McCarthy went overboard and was too zealous does not mean he was incorrect in most of his assessments about Communists in the government. I hesitate to include my last paragraph because in standard Mr. Priapus style you will use it to ignore the first two.

I admit I was speaking in generalizations, and should not have used "always."  However, it is a very common tactic that can't be denied.  Another example is Ford.  He was portrayed as a bumbling fool because he tripped once.  In fact, he was a very coordinated athelete, but one slip and that was his image for decades.

Of course, there are conservatives like Sowell and Buckley that no one can claim are dumb. However, they are not running for office.

It cannot be denied that there is a pattern of calling conservative politicians dumb, when if you used the same standards, the Dems would be equally dumb.  

I notice you did not address any of the specifics I raised.  Ike, Gore v. Bush, using gaffes as a sign of intellegence for Obama, etc.

I will address your point re States.  I am not impressed by the intellectual ability of people from Mass or NY.  Charlie Rangle is no great shakes in the brain Dept.  Is Barney Frank a sure fire intellectual?  Ted Kennedy - piece of work.  

Of course, for the Belt Way crowd, calling the people in the "Fly Over States" as moronic is just typical.
