I'll be fair---remark taken outta context as he was referring to choices of private health insurance individuals have & they could "fire" insurance companies they are unhappy with.

However, many of his GOP rivals ( who sound like populist Dems ) are attacking Mitt as a heartless corporate raider/hatchet man with Bain Capital, responsible for thousands of people losing their jobs. Gingrich even has 27 minute documentary airing in SC slamming Mitt's tenure with Bain.

Sounds like Newt's GOP rivals are an advance team for the DNC/Obama.

The clip of him saying he "likes to fire people"  unintentionally reinforces that image & will be edited to devastating effect by Mitt's GOP rivals & Obama.

No matter what side of partisan divide you're on, it was a bonehead political gaffe.

Whether in business or in my personal life, there are defined expectations. If they're not met, then firing is the only recourse. I'm surprised one conservative is attacking another conservative on firing. Bain is like any other private equity firm.

...in full context, and you can almost see Romney wanted to slap himself in the forehead as soon as he said it. The Democrats are giggling themselves sick of Romney giving them the most perfect soundbite imaginable. And since Romney did an ad against Obama taking him out of context while quoting John McCain ("if we talk about the economy we're going to lose"), Romney won't have much of a leg to stand on when it comes to the "out of context" complaint.

almost any statement made at any time can be tweaked and used against any political figure.  Both sides do it.

My take on Gingrich and the others jumping on this is that desperation makes you do just about anything when you are way behind.

Newt is gonna try hard with those Bain ads ,3.6 million paid for from that casino dude in Vegas who has a questionable character but Newt will lose in SC IMO. People in SC like that ad Romney did protecting Boeing from NLRB .

The idiot Santorum lost as soon as he said they should cut senior citizen Social Security benefits.

If he is banking on that to beat Obama, then there won't be any moving vans at the White House in January.

He likes the ability to have a CHOICE of who he gets his services from. He likes to fire people who are incompetent so he can get better prople.

Not so. A Repub Senate, House and POTUS could do it pretty easly. A POTUS and Senate could gut the hell out of it.

Never understimate the ability of politicians to sell their Mothers and eat their children to get something for a vote back home.

And I disagree with your assessment that a Republican Congress and President could EASILY throw out Obamacare.

It is NEVER easy to undo something as sensitive as that bill was and is.
