Do you also vote for local elections?

Live in a town small enough so I know the players most of the time.

I feel that local politics has a much larger impact on our immediate lives.
As an individual we tend to have more "power" in local elections.

Just my opinion...

these politicians have far more direct impact on most of our lives than Bush or Kerry ever could. Yet few Americans if any can name their city council members, county commissioners, state senators and represenatives. Most don't even know we HAVE state senates and reps....and these people get to vote??

My state senators and local reps are much more involved with things like my local school district, and whether the roads are paved, and, currently, in San Diego, whether to allow lap dances with contact at strip clubs.  Admittedly, these are things I care about.  But none compare to getting our nation into a war, as far as the significance of the impact.

At least when I went on vacation to your fair state this month, I knew I was missing a local elect.

I'm becoming more active politically.  I do want to improve about this.
