First, you gave multiple links, but all one source.  They all tracked it back to the same person.  Saying something six times doesn't make it more reliable.  Likewise, if ten people say "Jim told me X." it boils down to one source - Jim - with ten people reporting it.

The links you gave all traced it back to one source.  No one else heard it.

As to that source, I clearly was asking for a source that was semi-neutral.  I did not specifically say "the Daily Kos."  I used the word "LIKE"

I was using that as an example, not limiting the request.  That is what like means.  Likewise, the example of the N.Y Times was intended to be an example of a fairly neutral and respected source.  Had it been AP, or the L.A. Times, that would have been good.

I didn't change the goal posts.  I asked for something reliable.  Instead, you have one person with an obvious bone to pick hearing something at a press conference that no one else heard and was not recorded or filmed.

And you don't think it is amazing that no one else at the pres conference heard it.

as a source. Jesus H. Christ, you gotta be out of your mind. She continually warped any statement to suit her agenda. Not reliable at all.

There's an old Texas saying..."Some people just need killin". Guess someone took that to heart, before her parched bones were found out in the west Texas sage brush.

I have no problem with atheists, as long as they leave me alone, I'll do the same. But when they start trying to shove their beliefs down my throat, I get angry.

Being an atheist, I have no faith that god exists so I require proof that god exists. It is impossible for anyone to lie about anything related to the subject of god because there is no way to prove that their lies are lies.

To the merits: They all go back to the same person.  It is one person saying it in several forums, with other people quoting him.  

It all boils down to one person at a press conference heard something else that no one else heard and that the mikes never picked up.

Don't hold your breath until you have something independent.

Then the silly thing about the Bush library.  It depends what you quote from there.  If you link to video tape and audio, yeah, you can quote from there.  There are a million documents that will be there and many will be very reliable.  

The reliability comes not from where it is, or who said it, but whether it can be corroborated.

Again, it was a press conference. If only one person heard it and no one recorded it, I think it is a lie.

I have a long history on this board of antipathy bordering on hostility toward nearly all reglions, particularly Christianity, which I abhor nearly as much as Islam. I am far from an apologist for the religious right. The fact that more often than not I vote for the same candidates as those on the religious right does not mean that I agree with them, or tolerate their narrow minded religious bigotry. It just means we have more political views in common than those we do not agree on.

I'll be the first one to condemn religious speech that is spoken in the wrong place at the wrong time, or speech that is genuinely intolerant or divisive. Had the Govenor said what he said from his office, that would be a problem. But he didn't, he said it in a church, where it is appropriate, and what he said was in no way objectionable. He didn't just say "you aren't my brothers or sisters", he said that those who are saved are his brothers and sisters, and those who aren't saved are not, but he'd like them to be. That is the essence of the message of most Christians. This "story" is not a story at all, but merely the left's attempt at creating something out of nothing, and is so very typical of them.

I get sick to death of those on the right who insist we all have to believe what they believe, and live by waht they believe in regardless of whether we share those beliefs of not. But I am equally nauseated by those on the left who arrogantly look down on anyone of faith and deem them ignorant, backwards, or gullible simply because the person has faith that they themselves do not have. Both points of view are repugnant to me, and the constant fight between the two sides is nothing more than a distraction that keeps us focused on the minutae and shuts down real discourse on issues that matter. We have real problems in this country, real issues that need to be addressed. This religious BS is just a waste of time.

PS. Regarding Obama's faith - frankly, I don't give a rat's ass one way or another.

Charlie, it occurred to me last night that there has to be a God. If there isn't, then who the hell am I supposed to notify of my arrival?

I don't care whether they believe in a God or Goddess, or don't believe in anything but science. Just don't continually try to push your belief or non-belief at me.
