How did you get back?

1)  Guys, don't take my word for it.  Look it up for yourselves.

2)  The law has some basic principles that are usually/almost always followed.  Some are (a) no harm, no foul.  (b) There are important laws, and ones that are not so important.

3)  Some laws are so basic and important that failure to observe them is regarded as a matter of morality.  Like murder, theft, etc.   These usually require some evidence or inference that you intended to do the act, and you can go to prison for them.

4)  Other laws are fundamentally regulatory.  Building codes, traffic violations, etc.  These things usually do not require proof of knowledge, and you generally don't go to prison for them.  OTOH, conspiracies to do these things can sometimes land you in prison.

5)  One of the things that confuses the shit right out of Republicans is that as much as we try to keep the law simple, it can NEVER be made black & white, and we shouldn't want it to be.  Simple, fair, yes:  B&W, no.

6) The law isn't handed down by God or the king - it's created by us.   Therefore, you are never relieved of the responsibility for thinking.  Don't be worried, you can handle it.  If you're panicked, call your older brother.  Not your momma, BenD, your older brother.

7) So if you have to violate traffic regulations, or break some other law in order to prevent a greater harm (usually an immediate violent crime)
that's a defense called necessity.   Even apart from the law, you have to live with yourself, and I would hope (fundies with fire insurance aside) that you would have the brains & morality to do the right thing.   If you have a lukewarm IQ and nobody told you, I suppose you could even vote Republican.

8) Add all this up, and you might imagine the reason that you don't shoot trespassers unless they're doing something on the order of the same harm.  Even Charlie Manson's, or BenD's pathetic lives are worth more than the damage their footprints make.  That goes for Messicans, too.  Don't shit on the hired help, they know you need them, and it will bite you in the ass one day; and  they also remember people who were decent to them when they needed it.

9) WTF are *we* doing talking about morality?  IMHO, morality can't be excused by saying "God made me do it."  It requires an honest responsibility to whatever you think your obligations are, like your family, your mates (in the OZ usage), etc.   *I* don't need no steenkin fire insurance.  I happen to like pussy, and don't mind helping out the people who make me feel good, even if it's a passing transaction.  You will notice that the GF has had me by the dick for a couple years, and that's really OK with me, because she treats me right.  For me, that's all it takes.

10) Now, Democrats, don't be thinking that stupidity or cupidity should get you off any more than it should Republicans.   All that does is keep you in the ghetto.   And if you don't show up to vote, you're gonna get assholes like Bush-Cheney, who will fuck your country every way to Sunday.

I thought scriptfixer was your new alias. Are we going to have to cope with both of your BS?

No, you don't have to cope with both our BS.  You have *many* choices.

1st, you can get a brain, Scarecrow.
2nd, you can get some ExLax and relax.
3rd, you can ask yourself, if Groovy has no logical answers, is it possible that the other guy may be right?
4th, you can imagine that it's only words, and Real Americans believe in the First Amendment.
5th, you can think, "this is TER; it's not a fucking order from a Federal judge."
6th, you can grow up.
7th, you don't have to open the message and read it.
8th, you can leave TER.
9th, you can admit that if you can't cope with any of that, you're basically the same sort of Nazi Stalinist that bin Ladin is, and a threat to the American nation and ideals.

Do I have to tell you EVERYTHING?

Do you have any other dumbass questions?  Or is it just the Republican leaking out of your ears?

Sorry, I forgot more choices:
10) Call yer momma & cry
11) FOAD

You aren't going anywhere with that alias.  You're  just copping out because you don't have any answers.

Maybe what we should be doing is selling yellow fucking ribbons at $50K each.  Supporting the troops involves paying for their beans bullets and bandages, and being willing to bleed alongside them.   And not sending them into every fucking dipshit ambush that we can find.

board, so I guess I better get with the program, and start coming up with some religion, and mixing it up with my politics...

I suppose I could buy a ready-made Scientology license, but I don't like paying franchise fees, and they are not nearly so good about aesthetics as say the Catholics.   And yet substantially more laughable....

Maybe I could buy a cheap license from some of these tantra girls....and use the rest to buy my Ducati, which is my core belief and ritual, staying below CHP radar...

going to do, as I much prefer tantra and Ducatis, and of course, for an appropriate offering, we can arrange this for you, too.

But since I found out in divorce that the ex had been concealing her various psych dx from me, and has since tried to get all my 3.5-4.0 kids into therapy "just in case" - I have a few choice words for psychrinks, and most of that is because I read their books, talk to their colleagues, and ask them questions, and I find them incredibly embarrassed.

I tend not to trust people who can't find a story & stick with it.

So if you really want to see me pissed off, step on that particular toe.   You think I write fast now, you wait till you get me talking about clinical psychology.

The ex was a *very* bright woman who was reduced to a fucking emotional vegetable in 25 years of "therapy" and drugs.   And when I started asking them WTF they thought they were doing with my kids - well, you don't want to hear.

So do us both a favor, and take that a very little at a time.

You're right on one count. It's my choice.

But is a short 2-1/2 days you've made 59 posts. You have posted at a rate that is 10 to 20 times greater than the majority of those here (and this is nothing new for you). Many are cogent, but most contain simply too much vitriol for my tastes (again, nothing new).

Your quantity over quality is just too much for me to even want to maintain any kind of pace. You wear me out. So, yea, my choice to to not get worn out.

I need my energy for my real life, where I do indeed spend a good deal of it helping to protect your freedom and safety.

Hey, this is a FORUM.  You aren't obliged to answer or believe anything.

For the world at large:  It's words and ideas.  If it exhausts you, take it slower.

Here is is - I write for a living.

and did some looking and asking around, which is pretty easy, given that Scientology isn't all that old.

And it basically comes down to the fact that the scientologists regard them as competition.  Elron felt he was bilged by the profession when they gave him good reviews, then turned on him.

So there's some revenge in there.

But psychrinks set themselves up to be knocked over.  There's all sorts of books on the subject, but one of the most obvious ones is claiming that psych dx are identifiable organic diseases, when the DSM clinical diagnostic standards do not require observation of organic phenomena in the most common dx.

IOW, eg, when a kid is dx'd ADHD, it is done on the hearsay of a lay teacher, with never any question of the environment.  Same with many other common dx, eg, if you are blue, is there a reason, or do you just want to buy some drugs?

were, "are we gonna have to put up with your BS?"

Is that too much vitriol for you??!   HUNH?!

Now, you give me this sob story that I write too fast, and you can't keep up.   Get your story straight.

My guess is, you must be a Republican, and nobody has told you, you don't have to read or answer shit on a forum.   I've already told you, this ain't a Federal court.

Managing your energy is your responsibility, pal.
If you find the ideas threatening, do what you have to do.

I hope to God you are one hell of a lot sharper protecting my 'freedom and safety' than you are here.   But somehow I'm guessing you don't need it all THAT much, because the rest of the TSA schlubs will cover you if you fall asleep.

Psych dx are the wild card in any health insurance.  And shrinks can and do find anything wrong with anybody.

Subjectivity is not per se a problem, until it becomes mostly bullshit, as could reasonably be argued here.

What *IS* bullshit is the usual claim that a psychiatrist is diagnosing an organic disorder in a DSM dx.   All you have to do is ask them, if that's so, why doesn't the DSM require observation of organic phenomena?

How the hell can you find an organic disorder if you don't look at organic criteria?

EG, staring out the window 12 of 18 times very well could be because of the environment, eg, the world's most boring teacher.

And that is the case for most usual suburbanite psych dx.  Go down, get your ration of godawful expensive attention and drugs, and charge it to the insurance.  You'll be back, because it never addresses any underlying problem.

Some people "cure" themselves, just as they would get over a cold.  It helps where your moods pass, as they often do.   Others get depressed about how much money they're spending fruitlessly...

But ask a shrink, "how many people have you cured?"  and when the hemming & hawing is over, he'll get around to admitting this is NOT organic, it's social.  And the only thing wrong with that, is the lie.

And why should I trust a liar with my insurance?

I had a shrink tell me she could tell my son had the "organic disorder Aspergers", because he "talked like an adult".   And even if he didn't have it, she had to make the dx for the insurance.

Really, doc?  Maybe he's channelling his teachers and double-grad-degree parents.  Why are you telling us that he's sick, when he's just doing precisely what his teachers want, better than they expected?

Well, because that's how she gets paid, is selling bullshit to overanxious and gullible parents.   Basta!!  Stop the shit, already!
