But if I had to make a call now I'd say Harris wins a narrow victory. I sense that the polls are not accounting for many new voters motivated by the Dobbs decision to vote Blue.

Of course that confidence is based largely on the polling so I wont lie and say it isn't. The polling has been very consistent now over a long time period where she is leading. I am not relying on any one poll.

There are also too many well regarded Rs (Kellyanne, Frank Lutz, congressional Rs, etc) all saying he should debate her again. That is a massive tell that Trump is trailing in the R internal polls.

Does she have it in the bag? Certainly not. There will be several October surprises and multiple unpredictable domestic and international issues that could throw this race one way or the other. But I would rather be in her shoes than his.

CNN had several groups of undecided voters around the country who were polled when the debate was over. Most of the people said they were now voting for Harris/Walz.  One guy especially didn't like Vance's evasive answer on the 2021 election. The change in favorability ratings is also interesting. Walz’s net favorability increased by 23 points from a pre-debate poll, bringing it to +37%, while Vance’s increased by 19 points, bringing it to -3%.
That's a huge 40% gap in favorability. So even assuming Vance was smoother and won narrowly on points, Walz may have benefitted more from his own performance. Polls are so confusing.

It's hard for me to believe there really are undecideds at this point but experts say there are and some voters acknowledge they are still debating with themselves.

The other side of that coin is that if you are a R strategist, and you think Trump will lose another debate, why not just avoid that last bit of imagery for voters just before November and hope you scratch out a PA & GA victory and thus the White House?

He knows it's not "too late." He just failed to come up with a better excuse when he was asked. But the truth is he knows he lost to Harris; knows she's smarter than he is and is afraid to debate her.

That is, with any MSM outlet. Two debates in a row were obviously biased and one sided in favor of the Dems. This stands out from the Trump/Biden debate when CNN surprisingly played it down the middle, we now know to help boot Biden from the ticket. Why have moderators that will not ask any risky or challenging questions to the Dems, but rather just bolster Democrat talking points? No questions on flying illegals into the country, no questions on vaccine mandates, no questions on defunding FEMA to house illegals, no questions on lawfare, no question on Soros funded DAs not prosecuting crime, no questions on BLM terrorism, no questions on Ukraine money laundering, no questions on Ukraine biolabs, no questions on gain of function research that caused Covid, the list goes on and on and on.  

I hadn't thought about the effect of the Hurricane on the election. It's still a month away but the damage is really severe, especially in the western part of the state. I believe the area around Asheville is pretty liberal, so that's not a good thing if you were hoping NC would go blue.

Thats why I said "fairly confident" rather than "very confident." As for 2016, as I have said before, that is a lifetime ago in politics. I think Trump is tapped out at 47% or so. I don't think too many people are in love with Kamala, it's just that Trump is hated more. Had Trump just been more a normal guy, not a saint mind you, but just a bit more decent/humble, I think he would have walked away with this race. It's the fact that he is so unlikable and such an ass is why he is likely to lose.

I think the race isn’t tight at all. I think Trump will win in a landslide. 312-330 EV. I think he wins Nevada, Arizona, he makes headway into New Mexico but probably not enough to win the state. Colorado goes blue, as does Minnesota. Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennslyvania all go to Trump. Trump wins Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. He might narrowly win Virginia, but that’s too close to call. And I think there might be some surprises in New England, maybe New York, New Hampshire, New Jersey or Maine. One of these states might flip red.

RCP for Pennsylvania moved from a slight Harris lead to a tie.  A Trump slight lead there is being held back mostly by one Bloomberg pool at Harris +5, which is the outlier.  Six other polls have a tie, four have a Trump lead, and three polls have a Harris lead.
