According to at least one report, Trump was read one item on Iran's 10-point peace plan and gave it his PUBLIC approval. It was some version of what would happen to the Strait of Hormuz. Here are headlines from various sources:
"US and Iran agree to provisional ceasefire with Tehran saying it will reopen strait of Hormuz."
"US and Israel to halt attacks on Iran for two weeks, while Tehran agrees to reopen the Strait of Hormuz."
"Under the ceasefire terms, the United States will pause military operations, while Iran has agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for safe passage for an initial two-week period."
And so on. Short headlines or 10-second soundbites, about all that Trump and MAGAs can process.

The next day, Trump was told that there are 9 more points and that the opening of Hormuz would not be smooth, immediate, or according to Trump's hopes. Trump then threw a fit.

If they were smart, the Iranians AND the White House staff and advisors would have presented the peace plan as an animated musical video. That would have kept Trump's attention and made it easier (if still over simplified) for Trump to understand.
