Another pathetic and nonsensical response from the forum dunce.
... only dredge up ONE PERSON allegedly hurt by Mueller.
I’m not about retell the entirety of the story of Russiagate, of which thousands of pages and millions of words have been written. But Lokhava’s experience provides a damning indictment of Mueller’s actions and inaction. BigP apaFlop finds himself cornered.
So what does BigPapaFlop do? He pivots away from the argument he finds himself losing. At the top of the list, the strike on the Iranian school:
OTOH, Trump has hurt hundreds and hundreds of innocent people….killing 168 innocent people
That’s on the CENTCOM Commander, not Trump.
Then he throws in immigration policy:
deliberately and forcibly separating families, with some deported and others remaining in the U.S.
Anything to avoid discussing Russiagate, and Mueller’s complicity in stoking the fires surrounding the hoax.
At its core, BigP’s response was unintelligent and emotional.
Let’s turn to Eli Lake, who in The Free Press, gives us a reasonable and intelligent analysis of the “I’m glad he’s dead” brouhaha in “Robert Mueller’s Tarnished Legacy”.
Mueller’s family didn’t deserve the president’s grave dancing. None of Trump’s many enemies do. But Trump also didn’t deserve Russiagate. Nearly a decade after that phony scandal, our republic is still trying to recover.
The passing of Robert Mueller at 81 is a somber occasion for what remains of the Washington establishment. George W. Bush, in a statement, highlighted the former FBI director’s role in “helping prevent another terrorist attack on U.S. soil” after 9/11. Barack Obama praised Mueller’s “relentless commitment to the rule of law.” Other senators and congressmen praised his valor as a Marine fighting in the Vietnam War.
This was the way our republic used to mark the end of a life dedicated to public service. But that America seems like a distant memory when the current president of the United States is Donald Trump. “Good, I’m glad he’s dead,” Trump posted on Truth Social of Mueller’s death. “He can no longer hurt innocent people!”
Social media vituperations like this from a sitting president used to shock our conscience. More than a decade into the MAGA era, it’s routine. And part of the reason for that was the scandal that Mueller could have exposed, but ended up fueling.
My take? Liberals aren’t really all that offended by the “glad he’s dead” line. They are pissed that Trump made sure the biggest chatter surrounding Mueller’s passing was about Russiagate, not his FBI service after 9/11, his years as a top prosecutor and assistant attorney general, not his decorated combat service. Trump reminded libs that Mueller’s legacy will mostly be associated with Russiagate, and it’s understandable why Trump would want that to be highlighted.
