McCain is alienating many with his "pro-surge"
position.

Jeb Bush doesn't stand a chance in this or any other Hell. At least not in 2008.

Dick Cheney has an approval rating in single digits. It would be easier to elect a black jewish homosexual as the governor of alabama than it would be for cheney to run for president.
of course, if bush were impeached and cheney became president by succession...
oh man... let's not go there!!!!

So seriously... who do you, the Republicans, righties, conservatives on this board, see as your viable leader in the near future?

Doc, I believe it would be beneficial to the libbie "I hate the rich, just say baah, and obey me" candidates to perform some of their parasitic manuevers on each other and not worry about who will be the next President for a few months. It will be a surprise to the sheep herder libbies and will get the support of many of the sheep (as in plebians, commoners, serfs, etc.).

Interesting the diversity already in the Dem candidates-a white female, black male, Hispanic male, and white male. Historical, really.

If your serious about your question, the person I like to see as President is Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska.

Born and bred in Nebraska he is no nonsense. He started and owned his own company. He understands that a National Energy Policy is important (not because of Global warming) but for the security and economic well being of this nation.

He served under President Ronald Reagan, and is a man I would follow into battle and would be an excellent Commander-in-Chief.

The question is will he run. I wrote a letter to him hoping he will.

As a sign of how weak the Republican candidate pool is. Newt Gingrich is now talking about running.  True story, you couldn't make up something this good.

Newt is looking pretty good. How would you rank the current pool of Republican Presidential candidates i.e. McCain, Guiliani, Gov. Romney, Gov. Tommy Thompson, Gilmore, Brownback etc.
I truly like to take a leave of absence and support a Republican campaign but I don't know whom to back. Hillary scares me, she is tough, smart, well-connected and shrill.

I hope that Hagel runs: He is the most decent man in Washington. Unfortunately, I think Hillary will run this country to destruction after Bush/Cheney. Bush/Cheney was nightmare and Hillary will be no better...

I am an independent more leaning toward Democrat. I voted for Clinton in 1992, Dole in 1996, Gore in 2000 ( I vote for donkey over George W. Bush) and I did not vote for either Kerry or Bush in 2004.

I will not vote for Hillary, Obama, Kerry, Dodd, or Biden in 2008 and I don't like McCain, Guliani, or Brownback. I will vote for HAGEL ALL DAY LONG AND I would even choose him over Edwards or Richardson.
