If you know little bit of history, you will NWFP never wanted to be part of Pakistan. Afghanistan still claims parts of NWFP with Pashtun majority as theirs and the people living there believes they are Afghani. Besides, the so called Durant line between Afghanistan and Pakistan is created by the British Empire after fighting and losing war Afghanistan thirteen times. NWFP originally belonged to Afghanistan. Pakistan had zero control there for the last 63 years

Pakistan is mercenary state, if they really take on Taliban and rid of them, they loose $18 billion in US Tax payer money paid to them for transit rights, services provided and use of their territory for war against terrorism.
