Biden had never been more than a political place-holder. He "believes" in whatever prolongs the career of Joe Biden. He would flip to the Right of Ted Cruz if he thought he could get elected president and he was capable of understanding conservatism.

when we consider how Trump flipped from Democrat to Republican and flipped on key issues such as abortion (from pro-choice to anti-abortion) in order to have a better chance of getting elected President.  Oh and let’s not forget his transformation to embrace religious conservatives after a lifetime of eschewing religion.
