If there was ever any doubt that the media is covering Obama's ass this disaster is making it CRYSTAL CLEAR.
"""They are finding bodies LEFT AND RIGHT""""
Sons of Anarchy – and Staten Island native — Theo Rossi (Juice Ortiz), who was home visiting family and friends when Sandy hit. He’s remained there ever since and gave us this first-hand account of the devastation.
“It’s so bad here, a lot worse than how its being portrayed by the media. They are finding bodies left and right, elderly people who don’t even watch the news or who knew the storm was coming. I was just with one of my best friends from high school and college, and his house is completely gone. One story I heard was about this one guy who evacuated his house during Hurricane Irene but then it got looted. So when they told him to evacuate for Sandy, he said, ‘I’m not leaving.’ Now they can’t find him, his 13-year-old daughter is dead, and his wife is in critical condition at the hospital. These are the stories. My stepfather and my mother, I love them to death. But when they heard the storm was coming, they said, ‘It’s not going to be that bad. Irene didn’t do anything.’ They had two flashlights and a couple of scented candles. Little did they know. It’s just not worth it. If you’re told to evacuate, you need to get out.
The one weird thing is how there is no power. The other weird thing is how there’s no gas. To get gas requires a three-and-a-half hour wait. It’s like this odd, post-apocalyptic kind of thing. Most trees are down. Power lines are down. It’s like a movie, or like The Walking Dead. You can’t believe it. Especially when you grow up here. I moved to Los Angeles in 1999, but this has always been my home. There’s the place I kissed a girl, that’s the place I played handball. I know this island in and out. To see it completely destroyed is bizarre. http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/11/02/sons-of-anarchy-irene-staten-island/
The truth is we can't function with out energy. I don't think you can even clean up your own disaster, you don't own the utilities you can't touch their property.
Watch when people get hit with the clean up cost. People will be even more outraged then the disater it self. We will all be paying this bill, save up if you can.
...as a convenient way to dump the bodies which he had been keeping in the secret White House morgue (remember all that hush-hush construction that was never explained?). Damn, I'm getting good at channeling the GOP crazy!
platered the fuck out of the devestation on their website. The fucksticks who want to bury it are the GOPster buffoons who deny climate change and who tried to kill a Congressional Research Report that Bush tax breaks don't do jackshit fuck to create jobs.
Turn them in to LFTB-----LeFT over Bodies. The left can clean house. Profit from the lawsuit. All while putting a positive spin on pink slime. Then sell the food product to the public, at an inflated rate do to legal fees. ABC was in on it from the start.
You stupid fucking glob of diseased pecker puke. No one is blaming your lord and savior, obama, for people being killed as a result of the storm, nor did he act too early.
However since he was in NJ he could have taken a 10 – 15 min heilo ride over to Staten Island NY which was hit real hard too and there are many thousands of people suffering and in great misery, but NO he had his photo op pronounced himself the hero and savior then left to go to a campaign party with his fellow arrogant condescending elitist fucking snobs, just like with the murder of the four Americans. obama makes a speech filled with lies then when the bodies of the four Americans are not even cold, obama goes off to Vegas to party with a bunch of fellow snobs.
The aftermath of this storm is unbelievable. I was talking about this with some people yesterday, and I was wondering, if you ever had to evacuate NYC in a few days, how the hell could you do it?
The numbers are overwhelming. New Orleans, before Katrina hit, had a total population of 455,000. NYC has a population of 8.5 million. Those numbers alone is a good enough reason for me never to live there.
What a freaking nightmare. This is the most densely populated area in the whole country. NYC has the population of Los Angeles, Tampa, Miami, Philly, Baltimore, Boston, Seattle, and Portland COMBINED. All packed into a tiny little island.
The scale of this mess is monumental. And that's in NYC alone. We also have damage in the most densely populated state in the country, New Jersey. Damage spread out from Virginia to Maine.
We're looking at what could be FEMA's biggest undertaking in it's history. A bigger disaster than 9/11. A bigger disaster than Katrina. Perhaps even bigger than the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.
I can only hope that the death toll remains low and hope NYC can rebuild. Sadly, we're going to have a lot more of these sort of events in our future unless we get serious about fixing climate change.
Sandy was barely a hurricane when it hit. Imagine the damage if it had been a category 3 like Katrina.
If these kind of storms are going to be the new normal, we really need to rethink how we build and maintain cities. As if we don't have enough to do when it comes to infrastructure.
Jersey and NY are a lock and the storm took out a lot of whiteys along the beach front. He lets diplomats get raped and murdered so what's a 100 storm victims who shouldn't have been home in the first place.
or lack of presence has absol;utley NO bearing on daffy duck's assholian behavior. He';s still a pathetic fuck whether I'm here or not!
Anyways, last night I was studying the east coast on google earth to try to get my hands around the areas most affected and their proximity to each other. It is quite a large area but for the most part, Atlantic City to Long Island seem to be the epicenter.
What strikes me is how much worse it could have been. In Feb 2006 I drove from Biloxi to Bay St Louis MS and stood on the shore where Katrina REALLY came ashore. The flood water was 30 ft overhead with winds of 150 mph. EVERYTHING along a 60+ mile stretch was literally obliterated. This is nothing compared to what I saw.
That said, you're right. The number of people affected is MUCH greater and particulally in terms of dmage to infrastrucure ie, subwys and tunnels. I seriously doubt we are anywhere near getting our hnads around just how fucked up things really are yet.
