As soon as President Reagan died, W. Bush has tried to glorify himself by trying to compare himself to President Reagan. What a pathetic move, it's like comparing the finest Swiss choccolate (President Reagan), to another brown bad smelling compound I think it's called sh*t (W. Bush).

Boston Globe) - "Sen. John F. Kerry bowed his head and put his hand over his heart as he stood before President Ronald Reagan's coffin on Tuesday. "Entering the lobby, Kerry paused in silent reflection at the foot of the mahogany casket and bit his lip before making the sign of the cross and then stepping away," the Boston Globe reported. Former President Bill Clinton was frequently photographed biting his lower lip. The Boston Globe reported that many other Democrats will pay their respects to Ronald Reagan - when his body arrives in Washington. Kerry was in California for his daughter's graduation from film school. He suspended his campaign activities this week out of respect to Reagan, but the decision has virtually sidelined him at a time when President Bush is very much in the headlines."
OH, and his pissed off about 15,000 people by cutting in line and holding up the procession for 30 minutes! Nice work, when he could have done his dog and pony lip biting act in DC with the rest of the leftist dems!
Two more things:
2. The only time Kerry gains in the polls is when "He suspend(s)ed his campaign activities". When he opens his mouth, America hears what he has to offer, which is nothing but criticism and he dives in the polls. His negativism is not wearing well. I would also like to point out that much of what you Bush haters say now, you or your elders were saying about Reagan, just before he took 49 out of 50 states in 1984! Keep it up, please!

Reagan's popularity with the public scares the hell out of the left. It is an affirmation of what he stood for with the American public and a repudiation of where the left stands.
The 500lb Gorilla no one wants to talk about:
1) The Republicans would love to draw this comparison and ride the Gippers coat tails, but to do so would be in poor taste and therefore they will not.
2) The left would like to tear down the Reagan legacy, but he is just too popular and loved. To try so in an outright manner would be political suicide.
Before it is all said and done, however, this comparison will be drawn. The talking heads will see to that and the parallels between the war against communism and the war against terror will be drawn. This is going to be big problem before the left.
I know the saying is "Win just one for the Gipper". Well, in this case, it is starting to look like the Gipper is going to win one for us...
First of all the Republican candidate has no shame - Hell, he fancies himself a fighter pilot.
Second, Reagan is ``loved'' as much as he is ``despised''. Until you can give some real #'s to this assertion it is just that - your opinion (although I understand how you like to feel everything you say is factual).
And, can you be more F'n Korny - ``the Gipper is going to win one for us''. That is too funny. I suppose the greatest contribution he can NOW make to ``the cause'' is DYING. I would not be surprised if Georgie may have just tucked Ronnie in a bit too tight on that fateful night. Like I said, the POS knows no shame. Gotta hand it to Rons' dedication - Way to go Gip.
This from the left???
How about Wellstone's funeral two years ago. We've already seen what dignity the left gives to the dearly departed.
That was the most disgusting display I've ever seen, but showed the true heart of the Democratic party.
BTW, since you put such stock in the popular vote, Ronald Reagan won his second term with the highest popular vote in history. How's that for popular??
As far as corny, that was said about Reagan, and he kicked the lefts butt too. Do you guys always lose to people you claim are stupid??
Just wondering. Dumbya needs to do SOMETHING to avoid being compared to Reagan directly, because he comes out looking so ridiculously meager in comparison.
Nice spin- he actually does well when he lets Bush do all the talking.
Interesting how proud you are of the guy driving the US off the cliff-
I sure hope you make more than 200K/yr! Otherwise you are simply a misguided fool, dupe of class warfare. If you do- hey be proud you had a hand in the moral bankruptcy of your country- and your venal desire to milk the system of every last penny while getting the poor to carry the load.
It must make your family so proud...
Why would my making 200K (I'm working on it to be sure) be a burden for you?
I would suggest that you spend more time working, bettering yourself and achieving your own personal success than worrying about how I or anyone else is doing!
"and your venal desire to milk the system of every last penny while getting the poor to carry the load." LMAO What has happened to you? Financial success means "milking the system" and putting the poor in yokes? I am afraid that in your utopia, your ideal government would probably not provide you an allowance for your hobbying! I believe it would however enlarge the pool of providers. Think about it!
"The harder I work, the luckier I get"! (Ancient Proverb)
As far as serious offenses go, I wouldn't even think Lip-Biting stacks up next to a DUI, or a 30 year-old AWOL from the Alabama National Guard, let alone misleading the nation into a quagmire of a war, allowing the torture and sexual abuse of prisoners, etc.
Reagan would be American chocolate- too sweet- watered down flavour. Also the wrapping is usually the most creative thing.
Reagan was all show. Great talker- shitty doer. Govt was bigger when he left, deficit was bigger, real conservatives were being pushed out by Christo nuts in his party. He talked about being tough overseas and actually traded with the Iranians. Even the big buildup that "broke" the Russians? -started by Carter, who actually set the tone after being burned on Afghanistan. And the stuff we did in Latin America? Totally unforgivable! There, he chose to side with real dangerous fascist-style rightists- costing thousands of lives, and profiting the very drug cartels he also said he was against.
The ONLY worthwhile thing he did do? Total PR. Got Americans to believe we were worth a shit. Laudable- until you see that by his actions we were the same venal shits we had thought we were.
Read the Slate articles- they got it right esp. Chris Hitch! A stupid man- now a dead addle brained stupid man.
But boy could that guy make his friends rich!?!
Bush is somewhat similar- minus the charisma part and a little more money grubbing for his cabal of millionaire friends. But I'd rather Reagan was still alive and Bush was dead- Ronnie Pops was less the religious freak.
Where are the real conservatives? And why do they put up with this stuff? Lincoln must be aspin in his grave to see what his party is about these days....
