BTW, why should a convention be a re-iteration of what's written in the platform?

I thought, overall, it was Bill Clinton.
Others that I liked were the keynote speaker Barack Obama and
Al Sharpton.

You know:
Sucking up to the gays and gay marriage? ( it would seem that they have been sent back to the closet)!
Unlimited - federally funded abortion on demand up to the time of birth?
A word or mention maybe that they SUPPORT THE PATRIOT ACT in their platform?
Maybe some mention of John "Hanoi John's" Kerry's very unremarkable Senate career?
And haven't they spend more time talking about "Hanoi John's" Vietnam career than he ACTUALLY SPENT IN VIETNAM?
But to answer your question, John Edwards speech! When he described the republican ads that show John "Hanoi John" Kerry's actual record ATTACK ADS! I was laughing my ass off until I realized that many smucks actually were buying it!
It would seem that if the Democrat's know that if they actually exposed themselves for what they actually are on prime time TV to those on the bubble voters, they know that America would reject them...again! I guess its a smart political move, but it is pretty sad that you have to disguise yourselves to garner votes.
But then again, Bush has done that, or you might say, he let the disguise drop.

Bri bri-
huh? hard to think we are watching the same event. Good to know your fantasy creativity is unchecked. You need to hold that dreamlike state you are in or vibe you are catching and go immediately (except you must stop and collect 300$ as you will need it) to the review board and buy a babe! Right now- don't waste this ! You obviously need t oget more out of it than we can share here.
Although i must say you are strangely overly fascinated by this "gay agenda" you seem to be hyperventilating over. anything you are trying to say? need we concurrently post these fantasies on the TS board for you?
And once again- the point of Kerry's presidency run is NOT that he is the coming of the messiah (first for me, 2nd for you, for those who give a hoot), but rather that your boy is so clearly totally overwhelmed by the task at hand, that any body is preferable. So a run of the mill+ senator is fine. A clear step up. I might prefer a member of the Assemblee Nationale to Bush, so to geta real yankee with half a brain is like Xmas in July, baby.
You also fail to understand the new initiative on gay marriage. The courts are REALIZING (not changing the law) that it is already legal. That the constitution guarantees it ALREADY, through its wording.
When I hear a cogent word from you as to why it is a bad thing, i will be all ears. And remember, no use of any religious arguments- I don't believe in the Judeo Christian god.
And I think getting rid of the Patriot act or sunsetting (whatever that term is) it are part of the platform, but I shall have to look through the Times again.
the invasion of Iraq all dressed-up like a war on terror. Oh, I keep forgetting we are freeing all the oppressed people of the world.
As far as those pain in the ass Gays go (no pun intended) just what is your problem with Joe/James (pun intended) marrying. Is it the ``cost'' issue that irritates you so much ? That government is taking from your pocket and giving to someone less deserving ? Do Gays not work ? SHOULD THEY CONTRIBUTE TO TAXES THEIR WHOLE LIVES WITHOUT RECEIVING THE SAME BENEFITS ?????
Good to have you back bribite. Well, apparently we have different definitions of bigot - Although it is sad that the ``Left's BIG lie'' may not always be that innacurate. You did make a compelling case for tolerance in 1 dimension ...

that's "President Kerry" to you!

DNC Convention Director Don Mischer aired on CNN audio as sKerry ends speech:
'No confetti. No confetti yet. Go balloons. Go balloons. More Ballons. All balloons. All balloons. Come on guys, let's move it! Jesus. We need more balloons. I want all balloons to go, goddamn! No confetti. No confetti. No confetti. I want more balloons. What's happening to the balloons? We need more balloons. We need all of them coming down! Balloons. Balloons. Balloons. What's happening! They're not coming down. All balloons. Where the hell! Nothing is falling. What the fuck are you guys doing up there? We want more balloons coming down. More balloons. More balloons'...

now you knowe what it is to watch sausage made....
It's all crap with no content. Just bitching and whining.
This is one of the major party's conventions. Like them or not
it's part of our democratic process. The RNC will have theirs
in a month. The will get an opportunity to state their case.
Bottom line - you guys are pathetic.

PS the few who actually responded to the question - thanks
Both the DNC and RNC conventions are nothing but infomercials. The Democrats tilt from the left to center. The Republicans tilt from the right to center. Look at the contrast between the hard-left stances of the Primaries and the left-of-center stances presented this week.
If you can't take a little bit of ribbing and negative feedback, then you're posting in the wrong place.

Agree that Clinton had the best speech (no surprise there) but Kerry may have had the most effective speech in achieving its goal. The pundits said he needed to give the best speech of his life and even the Republican pundits said afterwards that he did just that. He started slow but
about 10 minutes in he hit his stride and gave a very good speech that scored some major hits on Bush.
The reverand Al , always entertaining
OBAMA for best speech...
Sharpton for being most honest...
I have to agree with you I saw a rerun on I believe it was the cable fox news channel, cnn or headline news, one of those ... of the democratic convention, and I think the speech made by Clinton was the best...there's no replacing the politician politicain who could charm a snake (meaning the republicans!).
His speeches have always been the best and I don't know if it's just here but when Bush has a speech they edit it and put only about 5-10 mins. of the speech on, on the east coast we saw the whole entire speech made by Clinton. I miss Clinton, wish he could run again!
A true democrate!
Hugs,
Dee
He does seem to be a smart, well-articulated individual, but let's see where he is in four years, or eight years. Political parties have a history of designating their new favorite sons or daughters, but the voting public has the final say.
OH, I forgot, there wasn't such a speaker. And before you flame away, I doubt we'll get any specifics from the Republicans either.
And BTW, I don't consider "get other nations involved" a specific plan for Iraq. It is a wish or desire, not a specific gameplan.
