Have you seen Shrub's facial expressions while Kerry is speaking?  He's making faces & is totally disjointed, not to mention soiling himself, just like I said.

Kerry is responding and expressing his views calmly and is much more composed.  Dumbya just doesn't want to be there because he knew he was going to get grilled, just like a Burger King Whopper.  And so far, he is.  But hey, have it your way.

I don't think Bush did all that bad - he was pretty good.  But for sure, Kerry came across really well - he didn't seem like he was supposed to be like - he seemed like a determined guy to me.

but I was pleased with Kerry and thought he came across quite well and agree that he appeared determined.

Most importantly, I also found Bush's implication that Iraq attacked US as ``revealing'' ...

Seems like Kerry won the debate.  I don't think there are any surprises here.  Let's see how quickly this will transform into presidential preference polls.

Who Won? (Among Debate Viewers)
Kerry  45%
Bush  36
Tie  17

This is from abcnews.com, just in case the link didn't work.

If you caught CSPAN rerun with the close up of Bush while Kerry spoke, you could pretty much guess Democrats have found a treasure trove for the campaign.  Bush looked visibly annoyed and upset.

It did avoid some of the sound-bites and excesses of previous debates.

I have to agree with you. He (Bush) actually surprised me with how well he came across.  He was still lacking immensely IMO.

Probbably since they were busy watching the debate & not jumping to conclusions based upon preconceived notions.  What a novel concept!

Is Kerry the better debater?  Sure, I'll concede that point - 20 years in the senate without sponsoring a bill and yet being able to keep your job will make you the better debater if posturing accounts for anything.

Did Kerry deliver a knockout punch?  No.  Did Bush do well?  Time will tell.

It seems the polls are showing that Kerry won the debate, however, the same people polled when asked if it has changed their potential vote, said no.

Kerry needed a knockout, and it didn't happen.  I thought the most telling couple of lines in the whole transcript were:

"No president, through all of American history, has ever ceded, and nor would I, the right to preempt in any way necessary to protect the United States of America.

But if and when you do it, Jim, you have to do it in a way that passes the test, that passes the global test where your countrymen, your people understand fully why you're doing what you're doing and you can prove to the world that you did it for legitimate reasons."

Maybe someone could explain to me how a President  would exercise the right to "preempt in any way necessary to protect the United States of America" while he is busy trying to decide how our actions would pass a "global test" before he reacts?

"Global test", Chirac and Schroeder's approval?

KCSHYGUY,  "GOT HIS ASS WAXED, BUFFED,& POLISHED!!!"  Hardly!  It changed nothing.  I don't think anybody has denied that Kerry is a slick talker, its just that he really doesn't say much while he is slick.

So, you didn't "see" it, right?  Likely excuse to cover for your doofus candidate.  Kerry took Dumbya out behind the woodshed & beat him like an ugly stepchild.  Shrub was so upset & flustered, I thought smoke was going to come out his ears.  A couple of times, he just stood there dead silent when he was supposed to be speaking, frozen like a deer in the headlights.  It looked eerily similar to his famous 9/11 freezeup.  Of course, when he wasn't experiencing lockjaw, he was stuttering and stammering like Porky Pig, while at the same time looking like Elmer Fudd.  Is Warner Brothers a Dumbya campaign contributor?

This was just the first of three ass-waxings Shrub is going to get within the next 3-4 weeks.  Last night's debate format wasn't designed for either of them to give any kind of knockout punch, because they weren't really even debating.  It was basically question, answer, and rebuttal; no opportunities for "getting in your face" responses.  Kerry may not have thrown a "knockout punch", but he solidly socked Shrub in the gut.  That might explain further Dumbya's goofy facial expressions.  ROUND 1 TO KERRY!!!!!!!!!!! (with Rounds 2 & 3 to follow.)  And when Edwards mops the floor with Lon Cheney, it will be a COMPLETE SWEEP!!!

BTW, weren't you the one that said Dumbya had NEVER lost a debate in his life?  You could've fooled me.  I guess ol' Dumbya isn't the "Master Debater" you think he is, although he truly is one big JACKOFF!!!

Face it, Bribite; SHRUB GOT HIS ASS WAXED, BUFFED, & POLISHED!!!  Show some scrot and admit it.  The truth shall set you free.

By finding the WMD's (capable of hitting us) at the end of the invasion!

To do this, of course, you need damn good intelligence, not salesmen bullshit, before the invasion.

Guess who has waffled and hedged about WMD's in Iraq, about our very reasons for striking there?

Another little slip was when he said Iraq attacked US but quickly fixed his mistake.

A perfect image of a man getting pissed because his opponent is skewering him about his flip-flops on the wars on terror & Iraq.  It's almost like he's thinking, "How dare you criticize me.  Dont you know who I am?  I'm GIRLIE MAN Shrub!!!"  I just love the hypocrisy of the Republicans:  we can criticize you, but you can't criticize us.  I bet he was dying for a little nose candy right about then!!!

The Democrats & the press should have a field day with images like this.

John Kerry beat President Bush in the debate.  Bush has never been eloquentand he has a problem with his speech. I know a lot of people that are very intellectual who are not quick with the comeback or who stammer.  It's damn frustrating but I do not judge the man because of this.  I clearly heard Kerry state that he would go for "global" approval when defending the U.S.A. in any preemptive action.  That bothers the hell out of me as I have no confidence in the U.N., never have and probably never will.  I would like to know how much was smuggled or blatently shipped out of Iraq in the many months that the U.N. and certain nations stalled our going into Iraq. Oh, and France.. Fuck France.

Most of Americans agree that Kerry beat President Bush in the debate and some choose not to admit it, however, Kerry's message still goes against many.  Besides, is the purpose of the debate such that the winner wins the prize..The Presidency?  No, the purpose is that positions, plans of action and such are to come out.

Kerry Won!!! But I could give a shit, just like the polls!
