"Moreover, your suggestion is still a separation. Only lefties would be able to play with lefties." No, no, no! The current rules do require that everyone wear the cesta on the right hand and play "righty." Ls can play against Rs even "natural" Ls have to play R-handed anyway.
.
Switch ends (front - back) and the closed side wall now favors the Rs so the rules would require all players, natural Rs and Ls, must wear the cesta on their L hand and still compete against each other.
.
Even better, think squash or handball played on a four-walled court. It is symmetrical, "closed" on both L and R sides. It is fair for both Ls and Rs. Spectators view from above or from behind glass partitions. ("Glass" means hard transparent material: glass, plastic, etc..) Likewise, think tennis with NO side walls. Put glass walls on the sides of a tennis court (and adjust the rules to allow or disallow caroms off the side wall glass) and it's symmetrically fair for Ls and Rs. Each player can choose to wear the cesta on their L or R hand.
.
Now, replace the "net" on the audience side of the cancha (court floor) with a glass wall and move it in to be the in-play side wall. Other than transparency, the court is now symmetrical and fair, like a squash court, to Ls and Rs.
.
Or to further increase fairness and audience intimacy, make BOTH side walls out of glass and put spectator seating on both sides. Fair for the audience and fair for the competing Ls and Rs. (Now, it's like an ice hockey rink with plexi-glass sidewalls (above the boards, that is).)

Re: Not Gonna Happen
Mr. Parity,
You got the name, fair and square. But your attempts to get me to understand parity mathematically or physically will remain futile! I can stay at any Holiday Inn I want, but I'm not on Dr. Wu's level! Could the lesson here be that if one doesn't understand something, then it doesn't exist? It justifies cognitive dissonance to a degree... You're telling me that the world isn't fair. I hear you. But at the same time, I can't hear you. I might as well read Dr. Gardner from the bottom to the top, back to front. I will get the same amount out of it. Good for proofreading but not good for comprehension... We have an annual gingerbread house competition. All that I've learned is how to help my team by "fixing" sugar. 🤣AND you're hitting the sensitive spot in this whole discussion! A lot of people have told me that because of my understanding of southpaws, I should understand physics. Every time someone tells me this, it hurts. It hurts from a deep, deep place. 🤣🤣🤣
Also, I'd never "open" a jai alai fronton. Did you miss that whole bit about my anxiety? I'm dabbling in small business ownership right now, and I am learning it is not for the weak. I thought it'd be a lot simpler, because "isn't every provider a small-business owner"? In actuality, it might be a lil' more difficult than I gave it credit. Operating a jai alai fronton just sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen! So scratch that idea, too.
Moreover, your suggestion is still a separation. Only lefties would be able to play with lefties. They'd be separate. Would they be equal? I imagine it being comparable to women's sports. So, it solves nothing. I think I will have to make my way to see Jai Alai. If nothing else, I'm curious now. Despite it's inherit discrimination, it's now been added to my bucket list.
Kisses,
Katie
EDIT: Oops. I meant to include some jai alai links. I think this should be a list of five:
