We would never stand for singling out any single person and then cast aspersions on the entire religious, ethnic or organization to which they belong based on the actions of one person from that group. By "we" I mean sensible and rational progressives. BigPapasan and Laffy make our side look like haters, devoid of fact and common sense, when it comes to the police. They are just doing what so many Republicans do to the Muslim community i.e. spreading fear, hatred and falsehood, and the fact they cant see that is astonishing.

Racism is alive and well in many of our police departments. It is well documented. But to say or imply that ALL police therefore are "bad" or "racist" or are "bigots" is the height of stupidity and irresponsibility, and it clearly doesn't help us with middle America, an area we have completely ceded to the Republican party, and a geographical region we need to win back, at least in part.
