I watched Hannity & Colmes following the debate and I was disgusted.  I am offended by people like him on a news station.  In truth, I am similarly offended by the (almost) equally as partisan MSNBC.  I really don't mind partisanism, however, one should never check one's brain at the door.  He's so aggressive and NEVER listen's to anyone who disagrees with him.  When I see he doesn't listen, he doesn't even let them speak.  He interrupts them shamefully.

By the way, they had Giuliani on and he said only the liberal media could give this one to Biden.  WTF, did he not see any polls?  As I said below, Palin was great, but so was Biden.

Oh yeah, has anyone else noticed that every Fox poll comes out something like 80% for the republicans?

I guess you saw Giuliani say Biden was wrong about the  Articles of the Constitution. Article I defines the role of the Legislative not Executive. :)

Sean - what a guy.... while some of his positions prove to be correct, I must agree with you about his style- it is swarmy...

Ever here a female caller on his show... and how he leads very quickly to sexual  inuendo... It is mind numbing... all while he talks a talk.....

and you are correct - he does not interview people so much as lecture to them as if they were effant school boys who did a naughty...

But he has a counterpoint in Colmes unlike Kethie who only has the same dolts that  have the same viewpoint as him ,except for the rare times that Pat Buchahan  goes on and makes the libs look like fools :)

Keith Olberman, Bill O'Reilly, Alan Colmes. All of these idiots are a disgrace to journalism. None of them allow their guests to answer a question, if they don't agree with the answer. They only promote their point of view.

All the same different names. They all hear themselves talk too much.

Can't stand any of them.

I can't stand him.

But Biz just remember, he's "a great American". I want to retch every time I hear him say that.

Unfortunately he's not the worst, I'd have to say Michael Savage is worse on the "I want to throw up after listening to him scale". I can't get five minutes into his show without changing the channel. Then of course there is the Air America crowd, I don't even want to start on them.

Polling is a game of statistics.  If you ask only people that drink your kool-aid, you'll always get the answers that you want.

That's how you can get different answers to the same question.  Ask for opinions of Obama in Harlem, and then in the deep south.  Think you'd get the same results?  I doubt it...

Not that Fox polls aren't biased because they are, but virtually all polls are biased. I think most polls this years, including the exit polls on 11-4 will be basically worthless.

my point was only that if you ask hard core advocates of either party, their candidate will be viewed favorably by most.

Fox polls will say McCain is god
MSNBC polls will say Obama is god
real polls will be somewhere in between, if you can find any real ones, that is...

I meant to agree with you and point out MRB's insinuation that only Fox is biased.

That's why I pay particular attention to transparent polls that publish their "crosstabs" - the information about how many Republicans, Democrats, and Independents they polled in addition to men, women and age breakdown.

Often even the big polling outfits don't publish that, I suppose because they don't want to be picked over and second guessed.

I know the Right hates the Daily Kos but they've commissioned Research 2000 to do a daily tracking poll.  What I like is they give you all the information about their demographics so you can judge for yourself about the accuracy of the poll.  I believe this poll is probably a tiny bit weighted to favor Democrats but not by much.

One thing you'll note in every poll this year, there will be anywhere from 5-10 percent more Democrats polled than Republicans because that's where party registration number currently are in America today.  So EVERY poll will reflect that registration advantage.

On thing I do think polls are good for is gauging momentum and swings.  I always take ovement toward or away from a candidate across several different polling outfits as a real measure of a shifting public opinion.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

Liberals don't think that only Fox pools are biased, however, it is easy to note that they are more skewed than other polls.  When most polls are within 5% of 60/40 to Biden, a poll that says 85/15 to Palin lacks credibility on any level.
