and a MASSIVE amount of projection.
THAT is the reality willy and the libs need to learn to overcome.
maybe this article will help explain my stance a bit better by that of a very intellectual black man, whom gives and deserves respect, unlike the mindset of many whether black trash, or white trash. Because I disagree with their actions in, no way shape or form makes me a racist.

It's time for you to admit to yourself that you're a racist.
You don't have to tell anyone else about it. All you have to do is just admit it to yourself.
This is something I had to do myself several years ago. It's not easy coming to terms with your own personal faults.
But once you learn to accept your faults, you are then empowered to do something about it.
Most whites are delusional about this. They'll tell themselves that "I'm not racist, I just don't like black people".
Then they'll try to justify not liking black people. They'll say this dislike is solely reserved for the gangsta types. And your racism can be excused because you're willing to talk shit about "white trash" too. So, two wrongs balance things out.
And if you need any extra cover for your racism, see if you can find a black guy to justify your racism for you.
Cherie, I'm not trying to make this personal. I think you know me well enough now, that I don't like name calling. I'm not saying this as a criticism of you. I swear, I'm not.
But in order for our society to overcome racism, we have to overcome it in ourselves. In order to do that, you have to come to terms with your own racism. Recognizing that you have a problem is the first step to fixing that problem.
And by the sounds of it, you still have a long way to go with your struggle against your racism.
Good luck with it.
Hey Willy, I always appreciate your input and your respect of another's opinion (well most of the time ) but you are wrong. It is not the "blacks" I dislike, it is the "you owe me mentality" no matter what color or race. Look at the blacks who come here from other countries (I have several tenants from Haiti and also from Jamaica, whom I have the utmost respect for) just so they can work, they will take whatever they can find and work their tails off, why? because they are "proud people". One lovely gentleman, I told him to go to the City for help with his electric bill, you know what that gentleman said to me, What!!!!! "I come here to America to provide for my family, that is what a man does. Tapping his chest, he said, we take care of our own, we do not want hand outs. I have a young man, 20 years old from Jamaica with a wife and a year old baby, he works at Burger King for minimum, goes to school to better himself, and his wife works the flea markets and takes the baby with her. These are people who, "find a way" when all else in life looks dim. These are people to respect for their character, it has nothing to do with color or where they came from.
Unfortunately, our government has said, hey we can give you the same amount of money you would make working at Burger King or any other minimum wage job, so the mentality is, hey,why should I work, its easier "living off the dole" than to get up go to school, go to work, consequently we have a lot of Americans, black and white, with no pride and no goals no work ethic in their life.
What do they do? Being as humans are of a "tribal nature" in that, we all want to feel we belong to something or a part of something, they join gangs, look at Chicago's South side, they kill more of their own people than any racial strife does. Why, because of that "tribal need" has not been given any guidance to making that youth of a strong character.
JFK said it very well, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"
He made American's proud to be an American, What happened to America???
But you've just equated blacks with laziness, being on welfare, and gang activity.
I'm not trying to play a game of gotcha. All I'm saying is that in order to fix this, first you've got to recognize that you have a problem.

MY WORDS : SHE SAID BLACK and WHITE !! She should have said millions more whites are lazy incompetent fools , which would be true , now I'm thinking of you and your lily white friends , HOWEVER , her post didn't read as racist .
YOUR WORDS . " I grew up in a very racist household. What would one expect from parents who were born in the 30's and one of them being born in Texas?
I would say, without a doubt, that I'm a racist. I have yet to meet any white person who wasn't racist, regardless of whether they're able to admit to it or not.
I realized I was racist as a teen, and have fought to de-program my head of it ever since. It's a continuing work in progress that will likely never end until the day I die."

Your words : "Full disclosure, I am a white male.
I was also raised in a very racist household. When I was in elementary school (in the 80's, mind you) my mother wanted to join the Klan.
I was told at a very young age that if I ever dated someone who wasn't white, my parents would disown me. They weren't kidding."
It took me nearly 20 years to drill my own racism out of my head, and it's still a continuing process. "

Thinking While Black: Barack Obama, Race and the Politics of Conservative Smears
Forget Barack Obama’s praise for legal scholar Derrick Bell.
Never mind his decades-long association with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
Neither of these connections will matter once you get a load of what I’ve uncovered: a linkage between the president and someone at least as radical if not more so than either of those. A man whom President Obama has openly praised, and not just twenty-two years ago at some fairly innocuous law school protest, but regularly, in his books, in his speeches, repeatedly, over the course of his political career. Someone whom he has still never repudiated, as he did with Wright, no matter the many statements this individual is on record as making, and which line up rather nicely with many of Wright’s views.
What does this militant, for whom the president shows so much love, say about white folks and race in America? Only that “Racism is a way of life for the vast majority of white Americans, spoken and unspoken, acknowledged and denied, subtle and sometimes not so subtle — the disease of racism permeates and poisons a whole body politic,” and that whites largely refuse to acknowledge “the debt that they owe a people who were kept in slavery,” for hundreds of years.
What is the position of this dangerous subversive to whom Barack Obama is clearly tethered, when it comes to the role of the United States in the world? Only that, “We’ve committed more war crimes almost than any nation in the world, and I’m going to continue to say it. And we won’t stop it because of our pride and our arrogance as a nation.”
There is more, much more in fact: pointed condemnations of white racism and arrogance, trenchant critiques of American nationalism and patriotism, and withering bromides against the wealthy, all from a man whom Barack Obama praises often, and apparently regards as something of a national role model.............................................
One can only wonder how Andrew Breitbart would have spun this, or how Sean Hannity might still. ....

and why they will continue to if they don't find a way to reach out to women, minorities including blacks and hispanics, support the immigration reform that is coming, allow Obamacare to set up in their states (exchanges will be done by feds in your state and mine because they have stupid governors that are fucking both their states up immensely, and that includes their refusal to take Medicaid expansion funds.
As Carl Bernstein said this morning "The Election is an explicit rejection of Republican scorched earth politics of this generation."

Your right Jeff, in as far as Republicans are concerned, that is the reason I am a Libertarian and of course, I'm sure you know who my vote of choice was. And with well over 1 million votes that Gary Johnson got, I would still venture to say a lot of Americans are still fiscally conservative, even if we need to do as our founding fathers wanted to, which was keep religion and politics separate. Interestingly, James Madison and Thomas Jefferson didn't agree on to much but this one conviction was agreed by both. This notion of religion is probably the biggest downfall of the GOP.

COLORBLIND AMBITION: THE RISE OF POST RACIAL POLITICS AND THE RETREAT FROM RACIAL EQUITY
It was summer 2004 when most of us first became familiar with Barack Obama. Then an Illinois state senator, the U.S. senate candidate delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in Boston: the first of his many now-famous orations on a national stage. Therein he delivered several applause lines, but none were as big as when he proclaimed:
"There's not a black America and a white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America."
Though one might welcome such a statement were it offered in the future and aspirational tense -- as a heartfelt plea for true equality -- Obama proclaimed it in the descriptive and present tense. In so doing he traded intellectual honesty for easy and predictable ovation. After all, 2004 was the same year that research from MIT and the University of Chicago found that job applicants with "white" names were 50 percent more likely to be called back for an interview than those with "black" names, even when all their qualifications were indistinguishable. And with black and brown unemployment standing at double the white rate, even as the new upstart from Chicago poured forth rhetoric professing national unity (and with the median white family possessing 8-10 times the net worth of the median black or Latino family), it should have been apparent that Obama was engaged in political science fiction rather than the description of sociological truth.

RED STATES or welfare states study shows/says;Red States are “Welfare Queen” States
Red States are “Welfare Queen” States
Happily, the Tax Foundation — a conservative Washington-based think tank — has, however unintentionally, provided the answer. In 2007, the foundation published a survey of 2005 federal spending in each state and compared that with each state’s contribution in federal taxes. In other words, the foundation identified the states that sponge off the federal government and those that subsidize it. The welfare-queen states and the responsible, producing states, as it were.
The list, alas, hasn’t been updated — in part, no doubt, because conservatives didn’t like what it revealed: that those states that got more back from our government than they paid in were overwhelmingly Republican.
The 10 biggest net recipients of taxpayers’ largess were, in order, New Mexico, Mississippi, Alaska, Louisiana, West Virginia, North Dakota, Alabama, South Dakota, Kentucky and Virginia. The 10 states that paid in the most and got back the least were New Jersey, Nevada, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Illinois, Delaware, California, New York and Colorado.

There are people who fit the categories in every race, religion and ethnicity.
Like MLK said, Judge a man conduct not by his color.
Another point to remember is that, none of us really know what misfortune these people experienced and could not recover from. There are many homeless veterans who served their country but somethings happened to them, and no one cared.
