Fonda made the following movies between 1971 and 1978, the years during which you imply she was not able to work:
1972 "Tout Va Bien."
1973 "Steel Yard Blues."
1976 "The Blue Bird."
1977 "Julia" (for which she was nominated for an Oscar.)
Also, even if Klute was made before she went to Hanoi, the award came afterwards, which means her peers voted for her despite her mistake.
