When Jane Fonda went political with her speech at the National Audubon Society, she probably didn't expect to be heckled...by Kelsey Grammer.

"I'm sorry, Jane," Grammer said as he interrupted her monologue about Trump, "But this banquet is about birds and people who wish to donate money to protect them. Do you think you could stay on topic?"

Fonda answered by reminding him that she has a history of using public platforms for politics.

"Which is why I'm amazed that anyone invites you anywhere," Grammer fired back, "It's getting a little bit old."

that she was called Hanoi Jane back in the 70's when she took the side of the Viet Cong Communists over the U.S.  There was a several-year break in her career as a result.  Nobody would hire her.

The infamous shot (shown below) was taken in 1970.  But not much of a drought as you suggest. She won an Oscar the next year for "Klute," thenmade several successful films after that including Coming Home (1978) (which brought Fonda her second  Oscar for Best Actress), The China Syndrome (1979), and 9 to 5 (1980).  She also built a successful entrepreneurial career, creating and marketing her popular home video program, Jane Fonda’s Workout.
Then she married Ted Turner.

You literally proved his point.    Winning the Oscar has nothing to do with "hiring her".   That film was made prior to her "HANOI" shot you posted.    Then she didn't have anything come until 7-8 years later with projects.

 
Jane Fonda has a problem with sticking her foot in her mouth way too many times.   Just like alot of hollywood.

Fonda made the following movies between 1971 and 1978, the years during which you imply she was not able to work:
1972 "Tout Va Bien."
1973 "Steel Yard Blues."
1976 "The Blue Bird."
1977 "Julia" (for which she was nominated for an Oscar.)
Also, even if Klute was made before she went to Hanoi, the award came afterwards, which means her peers voted for her despite her mistake.
Why don't you try doing some HOMEWORK before making stupid and inaccurate statements?

Fonda was married to Turner in Dec 1991; separated in 2000; and divorced in May 2001. She was married to Turner for less than 10 years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Fonda
