So if the Clown decides to send more American sons and daughters to fight in Afghanistan, why not start with his two sons, son in law and daughter?    Have them serve and fight for the country that is becoming "so great".

He was the one who cut troop levels there to focus on the wrong war in Iraq.  By the time Obama surged troop levels there it was too late.  Now it's still too late.  More money and lives wasted.  There is NO good outcome there.

So, 4000 more fine men and women to the battlefield that is active for what like 15 years.    The Russians invaded and occupied for 10 years and left with bloody bruised and beaten up.

Whether it's Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, whatever, the Brits and French drew some imaginary lines in the sand to create these countries. Have you noticed an American Captain or Major ends up in a tent talking to some tribal leader about giving him some goats and M&M's, so his troops have free passage into an area that looks like the fucking Mojave Desert.  These countries are not run by Presidents or Prime Ministers. They are run by families, clans and tribes, and have been for a thousand years.  

What are they in Afghanistan, mostly Sunnis? Find a way to lead them West to Iran, and let them fuck with the Shiites. Ever notice Iran really doesn't have an issue with us being in Afghanistan?

Remember why we even went to Afghanistan in the first place.  Our objective was to stop Osama Bin Ladin and in the heat of 9/11.  There is NO win in Afghanistan.  They have been fighting each other for centuries and are a completely tribalcentric country, plus or minus the Taliban (or any insurgent group that may follow them in the future).  We keep trying to inject our values and our way of government on other countries and it does not work.  So much corruption in Afghanistan, no central government will ever have the trust of the forces that tear this country apart.

Primary premise is that we will never end terrorism.  It is a very powerful buzz word often misused to increase military funding levels and extend government contracts to line the pockets of those who influence our politicians the most.

The goal should be to find a way to withdraw all of our military forces in the most efficient, expeditious way and continue to focus on our intelligence efforts to detect and obstruct the plans of terrorists.  Again, remembering, that our chances of ever being affected by terrorism is  higher than getting struck by lightning three times.  That's why we call it "terrorism."  The fear of these efforts have significantly more impact than the physical damage they cause.  

In summary;  We can not win in Afghanistan militarily, only a political solution will change anything over there and a political solution is not likely.  We will never eliminate terrorism, any idiot can go into a public place, at any time, with impunity, with just a vehicle and kill people.  We must accept the facts of life, get over the psychological damage caused by the billions of dollars and countless lost lives we have already spent in that theater, and establish a strategy with objectives that live up to reality!
