I came to your post to avoid being a hypocrite and to learn about a current event. Instead, you've continued the MN conversation in another thread, using a source from THREE months ago. This is irrelevant to Pretti's murder. Each is a unique situation. It is comparing apples to oranges. The world looked different three months ago. Renee Good was still alive. And although ICE was brutal, they hadn't become blatant murderers yet.

We are outsiders looking in. But you two have experienced ICE shootings in YOUR state. Your local coverage and viewpoints hold extra weight. They have to.  

 
But I still feel like this is a flashy distraction. It greatly bothers and concerns me when ALL the National news is covering ONE issue. It automatically makes me say, what are they NOT covering, but that's the conspiracy theorist in me.  

 
Personally, I feel that the Peace Summit and the crumbling of NATO should be getting more coverage from EVERYONE. The city that all outlets should have been focused on today is Abu Dhabi! Pretti's murder (and yes, I do say murder, not to anger you, but to state my opinion) is significant. It happened on American soil by American agents. I get that. Plus, this is right after the whole Somalian thing. However, the decisions in Abu Dhabi and Paris could lead to the deaths of thousands worldwide, and that's a low estimate.

On C-Span grillilng Rubio regarding Trumps dealing with NATO.  I just tuned in to catch Rubio saying that Spain STILL HASN'T STARTED to commit to the 5% of GDP defense spending (currently at 1.24%) in order to do their part in supporting  NATO and many of these countries don't respond to kind suggestions, they respond when they're forced to.  Her words but I'm paraphrasing  "I agree with President Trump that the European countries haven't kept up to their commitments and need to do more and we cannot continue carry the burden but he's rude an hurts peoples feelings"

 
He is and it's makes me shake my head a lot but it also motivates people to step up and do what they have been supposed to be doing since NATO was created.

 
And this narrative that NATO had our back after 9/11 is false.  Many NATO (and non-NATO) countries participated in the coalition  to liberate Kuwait.  NATO played ZERO role in this.

NATO did nothing to help us in Kuwait after 9/11/2001. As the United States was in Iraq and Afghanistan at the time...

 
Why did we go to Iraq? For weapons of mass destruction, we found ZERO. Moreover, GEN Powell went to his grave with so many regrets over the faulty intelligence that he was fed. Secretary Condi Rice's career was also ruined by defending the WMD rhetoric.

I'm 3 hours north of the shitshow and Scarlett is from Wisconsin and even though they have some of the same kind of idiots trying to pour gas on the fire over there, there doesn't seem to be any uncontrolled violence being tolerated by 'Sconny LE.
