I disagree with you you that public-execution is as obscene as "snuff flicks"... Public hangings, beheadings, and firing-squad executions [and "crusifictions"] are age-old practices of governments to show "justice" to the people and the consequences of crime...

This is no different.. Although this was a lot less dramatic that the post WWII hanging/corpse stomping of Musilenie by the Italians, it was still "good" for the region to see some "just" executing for a change! (How fitting that it was performed in on of Saddom's favorite torture-chambers, lol!)

If the point is to "show justice" people are supposed to be frightened by it, and repulsed by the consequences.  This is plainly not what's happening in your case, Ben.  It's the power of it that's turning you on.  The "head on the stick" is not just a show of justice, it's a show of power.  

Since it is a show of power, this is really where it fails as justice.  There were people who jacked off in front of those heads on the stick.  During the French Revolution, there was a woman whose window faced the guillotine who loved to get fucked doggy watching the execution, and she would cum when the heads fell in the basket.  This is the reason why societies that displayed the criminals corpses were extremely violent, and not because justice was being meted out either.      

I don't believe for a moment that its justice that turns you on here, Ben.  That is not a turn on to anyone.  As they say, "You could put it in the hands of the jury, but it will never stand up in court."

It is power Ben.  Sex is closely intertwined with a feeling of power.  I could go on about this in how it works psychologically.  I could give you examples of sexual behaviors that show this.  Unfortunately also, besides sex, nothing is more powerful than shutting somebody down.  It is the reason for snuff movies-- it is effective as porn if you somehow don't have any revulsion or guilt about it.  I think in a civilized environment, revulsion is the only healthy response to it.

So, IMO what is really happening here is that you are getting off on the power of it while the "justice" of it is a means of anesthetizing your guilt.  I will repeat, I don't find it any less revolting.  I find it more revolting that you would do that even if you have not understood the mechanism.  What's more, I think it is psychologically twisted and dangerous to indulge in it.  The psycho-dynamic is scary.  If pleasure is a matter of deadening your guilt, you should get away from the Bible and seek counseling.  Not that this is unique to you...

I'll look at Mussolini's death now.  There might have been incidental justice in the lynching of Mussolini and the desecration of his corpse: but that was a show of power over him, Ben.  That was people he kept down and led to disaster psychologically taking complete power from him-- and there was plenty of pent-up anger.  What meaning can there be to playing with a corpse otherwise?  It isn't going to feel pain.

I much prefer Nuremberg and Eichmann's trial for symbols of justice, Ben.  Why?  Because they were disciplined about it.  They did their very best to keep it just and keep power out of it.  They went through the painstaking procedures of showing facts in a court to make it clear that it was not a matter of power.  Nobody is going to get drunk and view the Nuremberg trials and/or jack off to them.    

Read John Douglas's "Mind Hunter."  Douglas was the pioneer of FBI profiling, and he was very good at spotting the dynamics of serial killers.  What got them off was the total power of killing somebody-- especially a woman.  One killer he described was Ed Kemper.  Look very carefully at that man's fetish for playing with the body parts-- which John Douglas describes not as torture but as an ownership part of the fantasy.
