Politics and Religion

Agreed, but blaming it on religious pukes is overly simplistic

those in glass houses......

It looks like pot is going to be legalized before prostitution, what a waste of fucking resources putting either pot heads or consenting adults that like to fuck in jail, just because it offends the moralities of the religious pukes.

2012 Can't Come Soon  Enough Department

Barry Soetero, one of the more obscure aliases by which the current illegal alien occupying the Oval Office is known, has vowed (via his trained monkey of an Attorney General:Eric Holder)to "vigorously enforce" all federal anti-pot laws, even if California voters legalize it in the up-coming election by passing California Proposition 19.

What do you call any country where the so-called leadership feels free to blatantly-flaunt it total disregard for the will of the people by either passing laws THEY don't have to observe or ignoring the will of the people as expressed via the election process?  Give up?

Tyranny.

California has already proven that well-regulated medical marijuana markets can work, and has created jobs, business opportunities, and helped thousands of ailing citizens who wish to have a healthier alternative to pharmaceuticals. But many pot smokers, dealers, and growers are still considered to be criminals.  Russ Belville of NORML described the current situation as follows:

"Most marijuana smokers, believe it or not, are healthy and aren’t comfortable spending money for a doctor to give them permission to use cannabis.  Currently we face a ticket, fine, and misdemeanor drug conviction record for possession an ounce or less of cannabis.  That record prevents us from getting student aid and can cost us our jobs, child custody, and housing, or if we’re on probation, our freedom.  (Even if California succeeds at downgrading possession to an infraction from a misdemeanor, a $100 ticket is a lot of money to some people!)  We face a felony charge if we grow even one plant at home.  For us, Prop 19 is much better than “what we have now."

Prop 19 is a major battle for states’ rights as well as for individual liberty. Decriminalization of weed would be a huge blow to the Federal government — unless of course they finally realize marijuana’s time has come.  It seems clear that legalizing marijuana will help California’s decimated economy by creating much needed tax revenues, easing the pressure on the expensive law enforcement system, as well as likely creating a massive boost for the tourism industry.

But, the feds seem to be stuck in the obeisance to BigPharm mode on this issue.  After all, Soetero was the #1 recipient of direct contributions from BigPharm in the last presidential election.

He seems to be performing admirably in his role as the best puppet money can buy.  First "Health Care," and now marijuana.  What's next?  Mandatory flu vaccination?

should all be repealed. That goes for seatbelt laws, helmet laws, drug laws, etc.

I take it as a personal affront that in a supposedly "free society" not taking steps to ensure your own personal safety is deemed a criminal offense, and one could actually have one's freedom taken away from them for a simple act of ommission in re to their own, (and no one else's) personal safety.

and yes, I do have to reluctantly agree agree, that it's not JUST the religious pukes, although they are an easy, and very guilty target, they are far from the root cause of the larger issue.

The more this administration digs in it's heels in regard to an "all powerful federal government" the more credibility they will give to those "secessionist wackos".

I used to think all this secessionist talk was just "crazy talk" by tinfoil hat wearer like Mein (sorry Mein, just can't help myself sometimes), but the more the present administration seems to want to run roughshod over the Constitution, the more crediblity these "loonys" seem to be gaining.

The thing is, its not illegal to sell your time, so "hookers" at least have a defense.  There's no way around pot selling.  AND the punishment for selling weed is a tad more severe. I agree with you that both should be legal.

It's easy to blame the laws against prostitution and dope on religious pukes. But let's look at the facts.

Who is in the head law enforcement officer in the United States?  President Barack Obama.

Has selective enforcement and even non-enforcement of laws been upheld as Constitutional by the Supreme Court? Yes.

Therefore, our President has the right to command his staff to, for example, leave our border undefended against incursion of millions of illegals; and he can only be held accountable for that by the electorate. He need not fear impeachment for failure to enforce our laws. Correct? Correct.

THEREFORE the currently sitting President of the United States, Barack Obama has the power to unilaterally cease the enforcement of all federal drug laws.

YET, he has instructed his personnel to enforce them VIGOROUSLY.

Is Barack Obama a "religious puke?"

If Barack Obama is NOT a religious puke; then maybe we should look deeper and understand that the origins of vigorous enforcement of prostitution and drug laws have zilch to do with religion -- and that religious pukes are just a false flag to draw our attention away from the real bad guys.

Meanwhile, yeah, I find it ironic that someone who likely advertises illegal services on BP would be critical of someone advertising illegal products.

Personally, I think doing dope is supremely stupid. But I want all anti-drug laws repealed.

I am starting to reconsider my POV on the subject.

At the very least the secessionist movement, might balance out the promulgators of a all powerful, all controlling federal government.

Now those people are the ones that are downright scary, because their goal is in sight, we are a cunt hair away from becoming another Europe, and that possibility scares the fucking shit out of me.

I reached it after years of boots-on-the-ground activism in a variety of arenas and seeing how politics really works.

Either there will be secession, or the freedom for which this country was founded will perish.

Oh, people will still believe they are free, because they get to choose between Rhapsody and iTunes; but they won't really BE free in the ways that matter to people who love and understand freedom.
