So I'm watching the news and for the last 10 minutes it's been about this white girl who is missing.  WTF !!! Why is this national fucking news ?? Turned to the local station and barely a blip on a black teenager missing.  Fucking white girl goes missing and it's national news on CNN,  FOX and MSNBC.....
So it's not that lives don't matter but it's crystal clear which lives matter more.

Who’s missing and where? Haven’t seen the news yet.

...she wanted to have a social media presence as a travel vlogger.

But the most important reason why she's all over the news is the fact that there is VIDEO of her before she went missing.  She was caught by cops' body cams crying that her boyfriend beat her up.  The news media LOVES having video; that's why the story is so big.

The news loves sensationalism, because it’s all about ratings. That being said, I’m going to stick my neck out a bit because I am sure that there will be those who disagree with me with regard to the question posed by the OP.  To answer the OP’s question. The value of a young black person’s life is just not that important to a very large number of people in this country. And it’s not just restricted to white people. I look at the leadership of the BLM and have the feeling that the only black lives that truly matter to a lot of them are the ones that have been battered or killed by white cops, because that’s where the publicity lies. There is very little outrage over the number of blacks, including innocent kids that are killed in the crossfires of gang violence, abuse, etc. That’s the thing that bothers me the most. And of course, we could open up a big can of worms by asking where Patrisse Cullors is these days.

I disagree on the reply that there is no outrage or concern from leaders of the BLM movement about black on black killing.  Lots of outrage but that gets into a deeper conversation on the causes.  We can certainly have that conversation and my thoughts. Many of the reasons are also the same as in the white community with the meth and heroin addictions.

As much as I hate the entire BLM "movement" (is that like a bowel movement?) the OP actually makes sense.

Just like the white girl who got killed in Aruba and dominated the front page news for a year or more, there has been a thousand times more press attention paid to this other white girl who most likely got killed by her boyfriend than there has been paid to all the dozens of little black girls killed in the inner city.

One murder started a WORLD WIDE protest , the other gets sensational news coverage because they happen to be pretty and white.

The search for Gabby went viral because it fell perfectly into the “True Crime” genre, which is very popular with women. True Crime stories typically involve a female victim, often popular and pretty, living a seemingly happy life. The murderer most often is a partner/loved one who ends up having a sinister background.

One woman on Twitter commented on why this genre is so popular. Woman spend their days and nights looking over their shoulders, carrying keys in their hands, moving in ways to reduce the risks of stranger danger. Then after all that, at night, they come home and crawl into bed with the man most statistically likely to assault, rape or murder them.

was most likely killed by her missing boyfriend, and the black girl only got a ride from her boyfriend to the abortion clinic? Being killed by  her boyfriend is kind of a sensational story.  Sneaking off to an abortion clinic so her parents don't find out she was raw-dogging a boy in the hood is kind of a boring story.  That's why the media is treating it differently, IMO.

Gabby a six? An all-natural blond GND with nice perky nips (in the heat no less!)? She’s way more than a six.
