I visit this place on ocassion and the residents sit near the front door and watch everyone that comes and goes. Some of them like to stop me on my way in and out, and just talk, I suppose they are lonely.

A few months ago they were backing Bush 100% and when I asked them why, the majority said because John Kerry is funy looking, ugly and a pompous ass (pretty much describes Bush also). On my most recent visit their tune has changed. Although they still do not like Kerry for the above reasons, they are not going to vote at all instead of voting for Bush. They do not like the events that have been unfolding and are beginning to understand the scope of the current admins. actions and deceipt.

Well they have time to analyze the events.
My own parents are disgusted with the way things are unfolding

You missed your calling poop, Harris and Zogby might just pay you big bucks for that scoop, then again, maybe not.

See link below.

It is interesting that Ross Perot's Reform Party (which ran Pat Buchanan in 2000) has just endorsed Ralph Nader--putting him on the ballot in seven states ( http://www.alternet.org/election04/2004/05/001977.html ).

I agree, that if he does accept it, this becomes a significant issue.  Especially since one of the 7 states is Florida.

But he might not accept it, and may simply use it as a negotiation lever with Kerry.

I don't think that either the left or the nation can tolerate another 4 years of George W. Fortunately, George W. and his neocon crew are self-destructing so efficiently, I don't think that Nader's candidacy will make any difference.

As for Ralph, I think this is a very sad end for one of my childhood heroes. One thing that strikes me is that the Ralph Nader of 2004 is very different than that of 1964. Aging is tough on everyone - but I think that mentally he's gone downhill very fast. I do wonder what brain scans (i.e., functional MRI) would show.

My little conversations are with people in person and they initiate them. They are not random polls that are made during someones dinner that pisses them off so much that they answer with wise ass remarks.

Will Rumsfeld label them the latest to be giving 'aid and comfort to the enemy'? Are they now among the ranks of the un-patriotic?

All the talk about "The Evil Bush" leads me to conclude that you've been reading too much Michael Moore & Molly Ivans, Nicole.

Otherwise Nicole would have to be given credit for judging for herself what the Bush administration's policies have done to our country and the world. What a ludicrous notion, that a woman would be able to think for herself. She must be another left wing pawn.

Well spotted.

(sarcasm mode off)

the sacasm mode, that is. Then you might have realized that the EvilBush(tm) / too much Michael Moore comment was a play off of a similar post I had made to Nicole earlier. Besides, I think she's quite capable of defending her views herself.

Maybe it's just easier to try to villainize people that you disagree with by spewing out absurd claims of bigotry, aye Puck?
