Like everyone here not in their twenties, I remember EXACTLY what I was doing the day of 9-11 and am reasonbly aware of what I was doing, feeling, etc during the immediate days prior to 9-11.
Like Pri, I had no feelings of impending doom.
Now Willy, What's your fucking point?
I'd like to try a little experiment here. No, I'm not trying to make a political point, I'd just like to ask the question.
For me, I remember 9/11 very clearly. Hell, I remember 9/10 very clearly too. I remember everything that did on those two days.
How well do you remember 9/11? How well do you remember that whole week, even before everything happened?
Yes, there's a point to this, but I'd like you guys to search your memories first.
and the two or three days following.
Having said that, I could be wrong but I believe I remember it. I don't but, I think I could relive that day an hour at a time from 5:30am to well past midnight..
I remember is too well and will never forget from the weather to the scene. I was there and the things I saw will forever be carved in my memory, and 17 days later my fiance died of a massive heart attack and the weather was a mirror image.
What will forever stand out was the day I had to go to the medical examiner and claim his body; was the massive trucks with the remains of many waiting for identification. I only wish I had the opportunity to grieve as others did, instead I remained strong for those around me his family and my friends who were in the towers. Years later I recognized that not allowing myself to do so those suppressed emotions came back to affect me.
There are so many things I saw and remember but this post would be a book; but I have to say the weather is still what stands out so much in both events sunny the day of picture perfect weather. Then the rain came and it came down strong and the day I put my fiance in the ground which was now October the sun shone so bright I will never forget the weather; it was if it was the calm before the storm. We must always remember and strive to end terrorism which should have no place in our world.
.....where I was, what I did the day before, and the day after. I assure you, I will never forget.
Hugs and Kisses
and those that came after it. I walked into my office that morning and turned on CNBC, which had a picture of the north tower burning. The tower was so big, the entry point of the plane looked small and I assumed a small plane had crashed into it. Then they showed the jet crashing into the south tower and it was obvious that it was terrorism. Then came reports of the Pentagon being hit, after which the reports of the Shanksville crash came in. I thought, "When is this going to end?"
Finally, the towers collapsed while I was talking with my ex. I said, "We just watched thousands of people die."
It went on from there, over several days. So, Willy, when are you gonna tell us the point of this?
a friend ( who subsequently died years later ) called me up & told me awful the news. I was riveted watching the horrible events on cable.
WW, you wanna see if any of us have Alzheimer's ?
What are you trying to prove here ?
First, I'm sort of regretting my OP. Living just 20 minutes down I-95 from the Pentagon, that day was quite traumatic for me, but I didn't lose any loved ones. I think I've fully recovered from that trauma. It may have been presumptuous of me to assume that others have too. If that's not the case, I apologize for digging up painful memories.
I remember 9/10 very well. I was working as a cab driver at the time. That evening I watched some movies with some friends, and had political discussions into the wee hours of the morning. I went to bed at 5 in the morning after having a discussion about U.S. foreign policy.
I remember telling a friend of mine that "Oklahoma City's only happened once because we're damned lucky."
Now here's what I'd like to know. If 9/11 is a day you'll never forget (I know I never will) then how well do you remember the day(s) before 9/11? To the best of your memory, do you recall feeling stressed or uneasy before it happened?
that the weather had been beautiful in NY and I had that "end of summer" feeling, as I always do.
Because my personal situation was ok at that time, so no memory of 9/10.
If you're implying a prescient unease about 9/11, no way anyone coulda seen it coming. Wait-------lemme amend that--- GWB SHOULDA been uneasy prior to 9/11, because of "UBL determined to strike in U.S memo" that our "slacker in chief" received 6 weeks prior to horrible event & failed to act upon.
what should he have done?
In light of the criticism of him for that, what should he have done in light of 9/11 and THESE WARNINGS?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cwqh4wQPoQk&feature=related
Muster all the honesty you have at your disposal and tell us what you would be saying "IF" we found that the anthrax that was being mailed to news rooms and congress people came from Iraq.
Have the courage of your convictions, if you support President Bush on 9/11, lose the alias & then we'll talk.
Ive done that previously with several Bush supporters not using aliases ;though I strongly disagree with them, I'll give them high marks for not being gutless.
You still are trying to tell people that a memo that supposedly got passed along to President Bush -- that didn't say anything more than any knowledgeable person in America would already know (i.e., that Bin Laden wanted to harm America) -- was enough to make the President know that four airplanes would be hijacked and crashed into buildings in NYC and DC?????
The only thing that "stretches"more than that logic is your fucking pants after you leave the buffet . . . .

The warranty has expired on that line, Pri. You better find a new catch phrase to use on me . . . .
Alias or not it is a legitimate question.
I understand though why you would rather weasel.
& I have debated this issue before with a poster named breaker morant.
Apparently he has cojones-----you don't, so let's cut the sophistry crap.
Why anyone has to resort to aliases here is beyond me.
-- Modified on 1/12/2012 9:14:52 AM
It's called denial.
And avoiding simple questions for which you have no answer, under the guise of "not debating with aliases" is called DODGING.
You just have no answer.
I just don't debate chickenshits.
Should'nt matter who is asking if you have a reasonable answer.
I don't think there is one.
but I will play, for a moment at least.
Like everyone here not in their twenties, I remember EXACTLY what I was doing the day of 9-11 and am reasonbly aware of what I was doing, feeling, etc during the immediate days prior to 9-11.

First, no reason to drag Bush into this. Just saying, it's been discussed ad nauseum.
I've said before that I'm quite the fan of conspiracy theories. I don't buy them, but they are entertaining. There was a few reports I read (possibly of anti-Semetic origin) that said some Mossad agents were watching the towers before the attack. But this isn't about a conspiracy, but it may explain why conspiracy theories persist.
There are times in human history where everything changes very quickly. It all happens at once. 15 years ago if I told you that the US would have a black President and dictatorships would fall all over the Middle East, you'd think I was crazy. 35 years ago if someone told you the Soviet Union would fall, you'd think they were crazy too. These aren't local events, but events that change all people on earth. It's as if people suddenly let go of the status quo.
What if you could anticipate the future? I'm not saying knowing what the DOW will close at next week. But be able to instinctually inticipate danger before it happens? Have you ever been in a near car crash, but lived because something told you to slow down? Religious folks may chalk up religious explainations for this, but I don't buy it. Have you ever got the sense that someone was staring at you, only to turn around and find someone is? Have you ever had the feeling that a life changing event would happen before it did? It could be a divorce, or you got a new job, or whatever. You didn't consciously think about it, but instinctually felt it?
What if human beings were, well, to some small degree, telepathic? I watched this the other night, and it blew me away.
I thought you were a scientific skeptic like me. Now I see you believe in psychic & telepathic abilities, which have NO basis in science. Next you'll start telling me you believe in God-------
Who could have predicted in mid to late 70's that such a thing as the internet would take off ?! Or in the late 90's that 9/11 would occur ?! CAN'T be predicted.
Willy, if everyone had psychic/telepathic abilities, we'd all be as rich as Bill Gates & be married to the girl of our dreams.
Crock of shit.
I'll leave WW to his enjoyment but since you seem to be saying he's full of crap because his references don't appear to be based in science, I guess you arrive at that conclusion because your sixth sense originating from the telepathic is telling you that all events must somehow be founded in science? While many are (coincidence?) there are many that are not. Just because there is no known scientific explanation doesn't mean it ain't so.
I told you so!!! lmao
More stupid shit from you know who. lol
Let me ask you though, did you really expect anything much better than what you got from TSTTT?
exceeded by my overwhelming boredom.
For instance, string theory and quantum physics demonstrate that observing an object has an effect on it. A thought experiment called Schrödinger's cat demonstrates this.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schr%C3%B6dinger%27s_cat
In other words, unless a conscious mind measures it, than there are subatomic particles that can exist in two places at the same time, via a tiny worm hole.
How is this possible?
One theory about how it is possible, is that reality is composed of many dimensions, all bleeding into each other. That matter moves forward in time while anti-matter moves backwards in time. And to some small degree, we can sense this.
skip ahead to 29:33 on the video.
in a sealed box we have a cat which we can't observe. Sub atomic particles of the cat flowing between dimensions/parallel universes has the cat in alive & dead states.
If you wanna take this theory further, there is a Willy in another dimension/universe posting sober & intelligent posts on TER------
Interesting theory, but best to go what can be observed by the naked eye ( not in ALL instances, however ).
Is the theory that there are parallel universes/dimensons out there plausible ? Why not? So much we DON'T know, including possibility of extraterrestial life. However, there is NO proof that a "other dimensonal/ universe Pria doppelganger" is directing thoughts my way (if he were, I'd wish he'd transmit results of all the races at Santa Anita today )
No matter how you cut it, esp & psychic abilities are bullshit & 99% of reputable scientists will say the same.

For instance, we can observe that it's impossible to nail down the location of a single electron.
We also know that neurons in our brains produce consciousness, and yet physical events are happening to allow them to fire. We also know that physcial events applied to neurons can change how they function. For instance, a stroke can cause brain damage.
We also know that other species can sense the magnetisphere of the earth, and this helps guide them, such as when birds fly south for the winter.
We also know that those magnetic fields pass through our brains all the time, and in fact is passing through both our brains right now.
I'm not saying that such nonsense as ESP or psychic abilities exist, but I am saying that it's very possible that our minds can detect multiple layers of stimuli, some of which we're conscious of, much of it that we're not.
Or do I just know what a moron Willy is? lmao
TSTTT rofl
but unless you can sting theory you sports bets for winners, I suggest you keep reading the sport page and scores.
Proper balance of it produces "rational" thoughts; improper balance causes depressed, anxious & God knows whatever type of "irrational thoughts. A chemical reaction that produces a certain type of "thought".
Certain smells can trigger unconscious memories; same goes for rapid ,barely detectable to the eye subliminal images ( used to be used in advertising )
Much of ESP/telepathic nonsense is either due to fraudulent, schizo ideas/scams; much of what is thought of as these "paranormal abilities" is due to someone who is very perceptive, or, someone with excellent "instincts" ( which is acquired through experience )
In balance, you're fine. Too little of it, you're depressed. Too much of it, you're fucking ecstatic. It affects mood, not thoughts. All kinds of stimuli can trigger memories. But we're not talking about serotonin or memories, Pria.
Pria, I'm not saying that if someone claims to have ESP abilities that I'm going to believe them. Nor am I going to go to a fucking Tarot card reader anytime soon.
What I am saying is that our brains can and does process information from a large verity of sources, much of it that we're unaware of. Buddhists use a meditation technique of listening closely to background noise, and focusing your attention on it, in order to clear your mind of other thoughts. The humming of your fridge. The sound of your heartbeat. A car going by. If done long enough, and with enough practice, you can go into a trance and experience one hell of a high that's not all that different than tripping on acid. It can also be used to deal with stress or learning to cope with trauma.
Some psychologists have been experimenting with binaural beats, to help aid in relaxation, treating insomnia, among other things. When listening on headphones, psychologists have found out that after some time, brain wave activity will start to mimic what your ears are hearing.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_beats
There's now quite a few vids on You Tube where you can listen to this with headphones, and experience the effect yourself. I wouldn't recommend it though if you have a serious medical condition. Who knows what could happen.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAj7ogsMy6k
Now if sounds can have this much of an effect on consciousness and cognition, then why wouldn't magnetic fields also have an effect on our brains?
-- Modified on 1/13/2012 5:03:23 AM
Take norepinephrine; an imbalance of that neurotransmitter causes bipolar disorder & esctatic & psychotic thoughts. Proper medication changes the mood to a more rational one, hence more rational thoughts.
As for the subconscious mind ( first postualted By Freud ) being affected by stimuli that we're unaware of, biofeedback & the like it 's highly credible.
NOT ESP & telepathy, though.

De Unofficial Guide to Talkin' Like Miss Cleo, Babies
* For the "th" sound in words like "thing" use "t." Example: "Tank you."
* For the "th" sound in words like "this" use "d." Example: "You know dat."
* Drop the "g" in "ing" words. Example: "He is not comin' back dis time."
* For "I" use "me," for "he" use "him," and just randomly use objective pronouns for subjective ones. Example: "Me know what me talkin' about."
* Leave out the "is" verb. Example: "Him a little bit overpriced."
* For "going" use "go." Example: "Hi, baby, what go on?"
* For "doesn't" use "not."
* For "for" use "fee." Example: "Are you waitin' fee that letter in the mail?"
* Occasionally use "tee" instead of "to." Example: "Nobody wants tee give way."
* Call people "baby," "sweetness," and "young lady."
* Make up convoluted expressions that sound homespun. Example: "Whenever we go back second time for second helpin', lot harder fee get out of it." (sic)
* Toss in an occasional "Ya, mon."
In conclusion, dat is how anybody wit wicker furniture, candles, fake palm trees, and other mystical-seeming crap can go become a psychic. Ya, mon.
pissed in the mouths of dead Mujahideen like my dumbass brothers who let themselves get caught on video did.
