Since Phoenix is the FIFTH largest city in the US there are tons of things to do.  As a native, growing up there was very little, but now there are many things such as...

*Indian casinos
*see a provider
*various concerts daily
*ballet
*Phoenix Symphony
*Arizona Opera
*various plays
*Biggest New Years Party tonight - Fiesta Bowl party in Tempe featuring the Doobie Brothers
*Go see Fiesta Bowl parade
*see another provider
*golf - over 250 courses in Phx metro area
*football games - Insight Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Cardinals
*basketball games - Suns
*Hockey games - Coyotes
*hiking our many mountain trails
*see yet another provider
*go to Indian ruins
*fishing at one of many lakes that surround the Phoenix Metro area
*museums - Heard, Phoenix Art, Pioneer Living History, Mesa Historical Museum to name a few
*Desert Botantical Garden
*tour Queen Creek Olive Farm, Schnepf Farms
*go out to Tortilla Flats
*Challenger Space Center
*horseback riding
*jeep/hummer desert tours
*enjoy many of our fine restaurants
*see Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West
*oh yeah, see a provider
*tour the gold mines and ghost towns in the east valley

check out what to do this weekend thru the local newspaper = http://www.azcentral.com/thingstodo/events/articles/2009/12/30/20091230wkndevents.html

now that is for this time of year.  You didn't state whether it was now or for a future reference because in other times of year we have:

*car shows
*Phoenix Open
*ASU baseball, basketball, football
*spring training
*women's basketball
*Diamondbacks baseball
*see a provider
*tubing down the Salt River
*Arizona Sting - Lacrosse

And I know there is so much more but that should keep you busy to start with.  Phoenix is a MAJOR city.

If that isn't enough, give me a call.  I am a certified Tourism Ambassador for the valley so I know I can help you find SOMETHING to do if nothing on this short list does it for you.

I get it!! There's plenty to do.

Thank you for the list. Now i shall allow my GF to make some choices. We will be in town rather shortly actually for about three days.

We won't be up for any frivolity until tomorrow AM though.

Depending on your likes/wants there is plenty to do in Phoenix. When I was growing up here years ago we didn't have much to choose from but now we are a major metropolitan city with many activities.

Seriously, I am a Certified Tourism Ambassador and if you need assistance in finding something to do, please feel free to either email or call me. There are activities for almost an taste/want/desire. The list is actually very short and there are many other things I did not list but need to know what type of things you are looking for.

PS You have a PM.

but those were the things that were off the top of my head.

One of my favorite day trips to take company here around town is to:

Mystery Castle for a tour
then on up to the top of South Mountain

because from there they get an idea of how f'ing big Phoenix is now. Especially if they used to live here - they are shocked by it's size.

And then off to the Stockyards for dinner for a fabulous steak.

And then to Sugar Bowl for ice cream.

But that's just me.  What's yours?

I would like to ascend the twin peaks of
mount Ta-Ta and spend some time at the summit.

Then slowly wonder my way south to cooch valley for dinner, perhaps a fabulous clit burger, then something warm and juicy for dessert.

Thank you

anyone that knows me well knows I like to fish.  I LOVE camping and going up to the northern parts of AZ, from Payson to Flagstaff, it's all so beautiful here.

As for things to do here in Phoenix?

EAT!!!!  We have some top notch restaurants, and then take Misty's advice and see a provider!!!
