Is it common for providers to say that references checked out, when in fact they were never contacted them.  Kind of reverse safety check on my part.  Odd or not?

we used to be the finest hobby community in the country, and the market was a relatively easy place for a provider to make a living.  Now, it's more like Death Valley, and the lack of business is undoubtedly driving some providers to cut corners.  The reality is that many providers, when contacted for a reference, now make it a regular practice to immediately contact the guy, perhaps "just to say hi," or more directly, to offer to see him at a discount.

Because of this practice, hungry providers are being driven to not call/write for references, lest they lose the appointment.  This is a bad situation, and I think providers who poach off of reference checks are being short-sighted.  They risk killing the goose that lays the golden egg.

Vonderman you have posted no reviews so how can you have any references.

TER girls are very careful of who they see and can look at our posted reviews to see if they would like to see us.

Some times we don’t make the grade they like and you just move on.

But be careful on CL and BP you’ll get burned there more often than not if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Don’t learn the hard way it well cost you.

there are many ways to hobby and there are many ways to provide.

i think every provider and hobbyist is entitled to use whatever method they personally think is safest and i dont think it's safe to assume that it's ever going to be easy figuring that method out.

How do you know the provider didn't check the references provided?  This is a very discreet business, were you expecting the referenced gals to call you?

Second, there are other ways to validate a referenced provider besides outright contact.

Lastly, though we ask for references and background info, if the background info checks out, the emphasis on getting the reference from a provider becomes secondary and less important.

But as Anna said, every person does things differently according to what makes them comfortable, and as From stated, some gals will cut corners for a number of reasons.

There are many ways to verify clients,sometimes there is enough positive information available,such as reviews,whitelists,p411 or datecheck okays
it is up to each provider to decide what works for her and what her comfort level.
and sometimes a provider forgets speaking to someone  for referencing due to just being busy with life in general.It happens..

because if she did, they would no longer work.

good ol fashioned common sense is the best screening tool there is.

that providers will not discuss in an open / public forum.

Some from trial and error, some by aggregating other techniques.

And thanks to the internet and some very good search skills, we can (and should) always be comfortable with a client before meeting them.
