Tucson is pretty easy to get around. The best areas are either NW of Tucson (Oro Valley), or East near Vail. However, if you want to be more centrally located, take a look at Aloft Tucson University hotel. Its not cheap, but not really expensive ($140/night), but it is very central to the main areas of Tucson, and easy to get to. Other choices are any hotels off the I10 between Cotaro Road and Broadway. These will be cheaper, but not as close to central Tucson. Hope that helps?.?
...the Starr Pass area, on the University area and other not so memorable areas. The first 3 I mentioned were the most enjoyable and, I agree that Tucson is pretty easy to get around as long as you avoid rush hour times.
