Anybody know where or even if the 'list' is available for public viewing?
I saw the reports, on both ch. 3 and 5.
Thanks.

I'm sure it will be available soon enough.  Other than the video link, this is the only written news I found.

PHOENIX -- Phoenix police have released the list of alleged clients linked to the Desert Divas prostitution investigation and it's 649 pages long.

The list averages about 10 clients per page. There may be as many as 6,500 possible clients of the alleged prostitution ring.

The list is put together like a database, with headings that include client name, appointment address, client telephone number, model name and appointment date.

It is alphabetized by the client's last name. It appears to cover a time period from May 2005 to May 2008.

Yes, it is out there. I have been going through it, even though as someone who did not ever use that agency my name should not be on that last.

They show when the visit involved a husband and a wife. And by the names of the clients there were some women whom used Desert Divas.

There will be some very embarrassed people in the next few days here in Phoenix and around the USA.

Reading some of the various news stories, some have outright said the list is no big deal because who knows if that is truly Phil Donohue for one - in other words, are these real names and without further info such as number or address how can you be sure that the John Doe you know or have the same name as, is that person.

I agree with you Misty. After me looking at the list there are so many regular names on there. I am sure there are hundreds people with the name Adam Baker (just made up name) in the Valley or even in he country since many were out of towners.

They were not releasing any client phone numbers or where the meeting supposedly happen either. It is just a name of the guy, the providers name, which agency it was with and how many times that guy went to DD to meet someone.

Some guys only had nicknames on there as well. So instead of Dave Bow (made up name) it said Big Dog, for example.

Some people probably will be recognized but many won't.

If anyone wants the link to the list pm me.

I understand there is a 1 year statue of limitation on these issues. Does anybody know anything about that. When does the the limitation start?

Statute of Limitation Issue: In AZ the criminal statute for misdemeanors is 1 year FROM THE DATE OF THE CRIME, from what I have read. The list is reported to end in May 2008 so the statue of limitations is already up for criminal charges except for the last few months.

Please forgive an old fart whos last technological achievement was plugging in an 8-track player without electrocuting himself but, where do you get a throw away phone and how do you get phone service without using a credit card and using your own name?

Not a lawyer.... But the law in arizona seems pretty clear - 1 year limitation on any action from its alleged commission.  1000s of these names, if not common names, fake names or duplicates, are well past any criminally actionable time frame.  Good luck and here's to John Smith.

www.net10.com or www.virginmobile.com

virginmobile is the easiest to use since circle-k and 7-11 sell the time cards.

net10 is the cheapest at 10 cents a minute but you can only get the cards at frys or walmart from what ive found.

what do the codes that LE has stamped on the right side of each list over certain names mean?
i found those interesting since they are sequential, and only appear by names on the right side.

oh and all those protestations of certain parties NOT getting special rates a few months ago were less than factual from what i read on list numbah 2 :)

no judging just sayin......

They screwed up in releasing list 2 in covering addresses and phone numbers.  There are at least 2 peoples addresses and phone numbers listed due to them not covering the top of the page or have some info listed where the girls name should be.

little law lesson, they can charge a misdemeanor for year year after the police found out about it.  (ie, when they did the bust in august)  so it doesn't matter if you used the service 5 years ago, they can still charge you until august.

Again, not a lawyer, but wouldn't their discovery of these offenses run when the investigation is ongoing.  If they have information or probable cause while the investigation is going on, there could be an earlier date.  The August date is obvious, but there might be some gray areas before then.  Maybe not, but just a thought.

yeah, but i'm guessing that when they got "the list" and the credit card numbers and addresses is when they really will count it as "having knowledge."

Here is the legal referance on what the statute of limitations is.

A statute of limitations is a law which forbids prosecutors from charging someone with a crime that was committed more than a specified number of years ago. The general purpose of statutes of limitation is to make sure convictions occur only upon evidence (physical or eyewitness) that has not deteriorated with time. After the period of the statute has run, the criminal is essentially free.

Statutes of limitation generally require the criminal to remain in the state, gainfully employed and visible, seeming to necessitate that the criminal remain "catchable." If the authorities fail to discover a criminal living in the open within a specified amount of time, society has determined that at that point the criminal should be able to live free from the possibility of prosecution. It appears that this notion is born out of a sense of mercy more than pragmatics: if the criminal is a fugitive, out of the state in which the crime was committed or otherwise living in hiding, this tolls, or suspends, the statute. (Once the criminal reenters the state the statute resumes running.) However, if the criminal were living an open, public, so-called "reformed" life, after a reasonable period of time he is allowed to be free from capture.

Not all crimes are governed by statutes of limitation. Murder, for example, has none. Sex offenses with minors, crimes of violence, kidnapping, arson, and forgery have no statutes of limitation in a number of states. In Arizona and California crimes involving public money or public records have no statutes of limitation. While in Colorado, treason has none.

The statute of limitations starts from the date of commission of the alleged crime.

Not when the police discover it.

That would be silly.

Do you think that if someone smoked pot when they were 20 years old and the police found out about it when they were 50 years old that they could still be prosecuted for the crime ?

Of course not.

Statute of limitations is not a gray area..

Looks like it was a good thing to be a Bob, a Jim a Brian or a Bill among others.

Thanks goodness for throw-away phones.
