Recently, it has come to my attention that “more than a few” Phoenix and Tucson escorts have started “packing heat”.

I think we can all agree; this growing trend is neither a very pleasant nor encouraging state of affairs… Why is this happening?

Your comments please.

The reason I choose to carry has nothing to do with being an escort. I exercize my right to own, carry, and conceal a firearm because I can. And was carrying long before I entered into this business.

I am a trained marks-"woman", and enjoy shooting as a hobby.

I wish more people would carry, and carry smart. Ie: be trained, practice often and know when it's appropriate to use it.
I fear that the government will take away the right to have your firearm with you if enough people aren't serious about keeping that around.

I have never had to use a weapon, and don't foresee needing to use one, but it's nice to know that I have that option available to me.

I suggest that everyone whether you want to carry or not, take a firearms safety class, as well as the AZCCW course. Knowledge can never hurt:)

she was definitely packing heat. You could feel it yards away, in her attitude, her gaze, and her smile. Heat? Definitely!!!!

:-)

Good for you.  I have for years enjoyed the sport with family members.  I think the evidence is overwhelming that right to carry states reduce firearms crimes (Jeremy Lott).  My wife was raised in a culture that abhored handguns until I took her to a firing range.  She was ecstatic and proud, and no longer fears them.  After firing the lady Smith she demanded "give me the big one" (a 38 special).  She showed her target results to all the shooters.

You get your facts from a beloved, right-wing hack whose claim to fame is "In Defense of Hypocrisy"?  Yikes.

By the way, every state is a right to carry state.

Legitimate, peer-reviewed studies published in respectable journals show all things being equal, owning gun increases your chances of being shot; but it's a pointless argument.  Plenty of gun-favoring special interest groups have funded "studies" that show the outcome they wish for.

I'm just amazed how such groups have managed to strike fear into usually rational Americans for the last 100 years that the guv-mint is gonna take their guns.

At the same time, the Cheney administration has advocated spying, rendition, torture, etc. and no one pees their pants.

Tina, what is the gun you are firing in the pic? I went shooting a while back with a friend and really, really like the Sig 226. Got my permit, just haven't bought the gun yet.

...I honestly do not know which is deadlier but having been shot at (mis-spent youth) and divorced (mis-spent heart)...I will say the bullet was much less painful!

See, now those are examples of "cheap shots" and no one likes those!

I'll take one shot at putting a smile on your face, and I can gurantee it won't be painful:)

Tina,

You, being a sweetheart allow multiple shots

just a snubnose.....but it is double action.

Tins I must say, you are a lady of the Highest Caliber ! ! !

Thank You

Great armory you have!  The Mossburg 12 guage with pistol grip is my home defense weapon of choice with "varmit" loads.  Also like the Beretta 9mm FS with hollow points.  For my wife I prefer revolvers over the more complex automatics.

BTW, did you notice the usual leftie tactic of referring to us "right wing" radicals as gun nuts? Can't win on the Constitution, can't win in the public forum, can't win at the ballot box, but they are relentless in spinning the clear meaning of the 2nd amendment.  Perhaps the 5/4 black robes will settle this in 2007.  They will be the first to march to the gas chambers accompanied by violins.

I mean, dudes back in the 18th century owned cannon, why can't I?

Granted you need a master engineer and 14 serfs to crew it but it would be perfect for reducing just about any castle :)

Dearest Tina:

I am sorry if I offended you. It was not my intention and I did not mean to slight the profession in any way.

I agree; the right to bear arms is an esteemed American privilege (I like your picture, by the way!).

The Sheika enjoys shooting, too; though I don’t go to the range as often as I should.

PEACE,

Very disturbing!  If you pre-screen and check the references there shouldn't be a need for anyone to have to carry a weapon.

I don't disagree that we all have a right to bear arms - I spent 20 years of my life protecting that (and other) freedoms.  I just don't think that it's needed and would not feel comfortable knowing that someone is bringing a weapon into my home.

the weapons she owns are self defense weapons, I do get a little wierded out by some of the folks that think they need machine guns.

Well trained folks that "carry" are a good idea in my opinion.

Odds are you can go you're entire life without the need, but when you do need it, it's worth it.

And guns are like cameras - they're no good if you don't have them with you.

It would make me uncomfortable ...
However if it makes he feel more secure than we should be asking why a provider would feel the need to start carrying.
I would prefer she focused on my umm .. trigger though.

In this day with the stories violence against the ladies, I can understand that some ladies would want to security of carrying.
However, I knew a very popular lady who told me she carried a .38 in her purse on every appointment, "just in case".
She actually carried it into the room and never told her client.
The problem was, she wasn't licensed to carry a concealed weapon and had no training.
That scared me to no end.

As Tina said, if someone gets the proper training, practices with it, and gets the proper license, I have no problem with a lady carrying a weapon for her protection.
BUT...if you are going to carry a weapon, you must be mentally and emotionally willing and able to take anothers life, if necessary, to protect your own.
A gun is not a toy, it is not a threat.
It is the last resort, the final straw, the no other option left answer to saving your own life. If you pull it, you must be ready and willing to use it.

BTW, I do have a CCW in Florida, and I do carry a Sig 226 under certain circumstances.

Just my opinion...

I absolutely support the right to 'bear arms'.
But I prefer to 'bare arms' myself.

I think that the trend of violence against providers is not a new one.  I do think that today's woman is bit more empowered when it comes to handling her own safety and that could be a catalyst for increased gun ownership.

Having been a victim in the past, I didn't turn towards 'packing heat' because I have a personal aversion to firearms.  But the experience certainly made me consider it.  Instead, I found some alternative safety measures that have worked out well for me so far.

On the other hand, providers have only a split-second at the door to consider whether their guest might be packing heat.  A scary thought.

Perhaps the trend will become 'strip searches' as an ice-breaker.  Might not be all bad.  :)

Even though I grew up with weapons and used to hunt, the only protection I need these days is my dog :)

voff, voff!!

But I like your kitty better.
Hope your having a great summer at the beach.

Im rated marksman on both the .45 and the 9mm as well as sundry long arms. I even have the correct permits to carry a concealed weapon however i choose not too.

Now if i were in a situation of dubious legality were i to know the other person was armed i certainly would also feel the need to be armed, peferably with my 1100 Remington behind some hard cover with a nice field of fire :)

so rather than succumb to my inherent paranoia id have to ask them to leave i do believe.

Oh Moby, dearest, I saw a picture of you the other day. I think you were younger then and you had on a mysterious looking pair of wrap around shades—just like the ones the men ware in the middle east, but, alas, no mustache.

Somehow, I always imagined you with a cowboy hat and a single action Colt .45.; ready to lead Cleo by the  bridle and swing the ladies high and low in the Virginal Real.

Nowadays, in this mad-cap, media driven, topsy-turvy world, who knows what one will find while surfing the net, or just around the next bend in the trail…

Now, the Sheika is quite fond of specifics and rather dismayed by generalization.

A question if you please; of whose specific inquiring minds do you speak?

I LOVE YOU ALL AND PEACE,

actually the topic of this post was brought up at my last m&g then the subject quickly turned to if you were a hobbyist or provider but up to you if you lift the veil or not.

abaz1035 reads

Honestly, Paul. Lifting the veil? How very daring and how very bold!

In some parts of this strange and foreboding world, your suggestion would be utterly taboo and expose us both to some very serious social repercussions. But, there are still some who elect to take the risk (something that we who are near the business are quite use to).

Hmm, the Sheika will give your suggestion due consideration.

PEACE AND PROSPERITY TO YOU ALL,

I for one love a good mystery! "Near to the business" Is that a clue? As for social repercussions, I think I'm over that how bout you?

You know who :)

Dearest Paul:

You are a sweetheart. Not only are you an astute and practical business man, but you are also one who possesses a vivid imagination. The picture that you chose in your last e-mail is evidence of that. I commend you! But, alas, that picture only heightens the mystery of the veil—particularly the pulsating indigo eyes. What does it all mean? What message are you trying to convey? Like you, the Sheika loves a good mystery…

In the States, the social repercussions for providers is usually very slight; usually, prostitution is a class one misdemeanor.

However, for many of the “others” who are involved in the profession the repercussions can be much more sever. I can’t say that I am over the possibility of those social repercussions yet.

On the positive side, the Sheika does feels fortunate that we don’t have to contend with publicly staged executions like death by stoning, or death at the hands of a family member or close relative, or decapitation, or physical dismemberment.

Insha’Allah,

Sheika Fatima
