My normal work day starts about 5:30am and I normally take a break right about now to catch up on the paper etc for a bit. Normally this is when I'll browse stuff like TER as well. I'm always curious and will read a review or two etc.

In my recent browsing I found myself pondering the choices people make (especially in the current realities). I noticed a few interesting trends.

1) a lot more "massage" reviews, often at what appears to be relatively high price points (and no this is not a "price war" post).

2) a lot more "2nd tier" (no disrespect to anyone intended) providers who are either high milage or good looks but not both

Approaching this strictly as business exercise (think of it as an MBA case study), its pretty clear that the demand curve has moved to the left somewhat significantly while the supply curve has actually fractionalized even further with competing service models differentiating them selfs at almost identical price points. So...

With the real benchmark for service retreating back toward the $200 price point the choices are interesting (we're dealing strictly retail market rates here).

We have a lot more scottsdale massage style reviews (which I find very little value in){safety+price+conversation}[my guess]

2nd tier service, not the best looks but genuinely nice person and high service

2nd tier service but real good looks

"upscale asian"

About this time of year I get a bunch of email/calls from the fall golf crowd. As normal I'll give them my own recommendations (this year Isabella, Piper, Harleigha, Jordan Kay, Mindi Minx, Sunnydd & Jenna)

Next question is when can you play around. Turns out I have a trip to Lima, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Rio on the books. Next thing I know both these guys have "cancelled" their golf getaway and are tagging along with me. Now this is a real business trip for me. Airfare and hotels are about $2700 {I get really good deals} so its a $5000-6000 trip. Whats funny is for both of them that was cheap compared to lodgings, golf at a place like Troon North and a play date each night. Add in the need to actually fly here 1st, set up fake VOIP connections etc...

1st time its actually happened that I've had guys tag along like that (talked about but never happens).

My whole point in this rambling I guess is that a very real type of shift seems to be occurring again that might mirror the initial one the internet brought on. TER and all the other similiar sites contributed to a major move in the demand curve to the right while creating a easier point of entry for suppliers.

Now the demand base has matured, the curve intersection is fractionalized, marginalized and going left while the raw 411 is going back underground. Until I realized my buddies from back east are/were/will be dropping $1000-1500+/day to vacation here I didn't realize the potential impact as it related to tourist "hobby $$$".

So it would appear that for locals the economic realities have forced tough choices (for me as well) while for those traveling the cost of "fun" has opened alternatives previously viewed as not worth the hassle....

Just food for thought...

Yeah for 2nd tier providers! I can tell you that for years, there is a whole lot of business from guys who never post a review or use the discussion board. They only read the reviews to decide if they want to see a gal.

Your analogy is great based on the info from those that post and  review. If only we could actually count all those under the radar that contribute so well!

The picture is far far different. A few of my ATF's have been around for a decade and never posted a word anywhere or had a review written.

In fact a lot of our current problems are a direct result of the commercialization of the business. As more and more layers have been added both pricing and visibility have gone up....way up.

I'm a stone cold capitalist and I have no issue with anyone on any side making money, thats what makes the world turn. But anytime you add layers you increase cost and of its a business like this one...you increase risk.

I know a lot of hobbiests who will gladly pay a bit more for safety, discretion and professionalism and a lot of gals who will gladly take less for safety, peace of mind and a known "nice guy". Its funny just how rarely the two seem to meet in the current environment:).

What suprised me is the effect that overall pricing (not hobbying) seems to be effecting playtime. Before these guys would talk over beers but actually going with me was not gonna happen. Now the overall pressure of business has forced these guys into the realm of my average 60+ hour week (I just love chasing deals). So with a lot less playtime (but strangely more latitude from boss and big boss (wife). The trip with the boys is encouraged...now its a once a year de-stresser thats all or nothing it seems. Further it seems that all of a sudden even with high travel costs, the $$$ global fall and the hassle of "covert" operations (or is it the thrill) its actually cheaper, more exciting (and maybe safer) to go chase pussy in SA then play golf and dial in room service at night.

However, I also see what wndrwmn25 is saying. Many men whom I have seen do not post on TER or do not write reviews. In fact, many of my clients are very shy and do not have time to write reviews -- and they are certainly wealthy enough to pick and choose whom they visit. Those who have seen me wonder why my donations are not higher for the quality of service I offer. Honestly, I came up with my donation points because of the market. My fair donations to the Red Cross certainly do not reflect upon my looks or my service. When I was with an agency I was getting at least $$$$. Now that I do this only part time and do not contribute to someone else I can afford to be more gracious. I also would get a lot more appointments now if I chose to schedule with everyone who contacts me.

I give wonderful head-to-toe backrubs (ask anyone), I am good looking (not to sound vain but I am), I am in good shape (maybe even better than some of the 20-year olds I've seen), and provide one heck of an experience (or so I've been told). So, if price points -- as you say -- are equilalent to the service and the looks that you are seeking, then you might donate $400 to $500 an hour to your favorite charity for the same discretion, good looks and performance you would get with me or perhaps another lovely provider at those points. For $$$$ an hour you might get anal, but for $260 you will get everything except anal. Think about it. Some men are fools, no offense. No! I'm not saying women whose donations are $400 are ridiculous. Good for them if they can get it and maintain a steady income, but I also think that men who can get the same thing for less are -- well, let's say -- ignorant to pay more, especially in this economy. But hey! People can do whatever they want. It's a free country. You will never change some people and that is okay. Everyone has their standards. But remember, higher price points does not mean you are getting better service by better-looking women. It is just a difference in opinion.

As far as traveling hobbiests are concerned:  Golfing in Arizona, the pricey hotel rooms (at least in the fall and winter seasons) and then a great fling afterward might cost you more than to fly to Brazil and get lucky. I say, "Go for it and have fun!" I wish I were going with you. I could use some dark Brazilian fun. :)

Hugs,
Ciara

I haven't had a new review in almost a year, but not for lack of activity.

TER reviews are just a drop in the bucket as far as hobbyist demographics are concerned.
I suspect a great majority don't actively participate in this board at all, but rather (as Ciara said) use it as a reference tool only.

No question the bulk of the hobby is still hidden with most hobbiests (and a suprising # of gals) totally off the grid. The demand curve exists independent of any individual rate and is greatly complicated by conflicting wants and needs. It moves independently of any factions wants or desires.

My curiosity was more in the choices, which seem at odds with my predications. Normally I'd guess the response would be to but the length, # of rounds or play dates...not to venture into uncharted waters. I'd view that as a reality if things were "flush".

As for the options I've been a regular to world wide (especially South American) play/travel/ business for a long time. All in all its still actually cheaper (by a wide margin) to travel & hobby then to hobby here if your comfortable in that mode of operation.

The real variable has always been the opportunity cost. Up until recently the lost business opportunity has precluded many from "connected travel" at a reasonable price. Only over the last few years has the virtual enterprise really reached a point where its globally transportable.

The second variable has and will continue to be the "connection". I've met a few remarkable women via the hobby and had some fairly intense long term relationships. That type of bond and interaction isn't really possible with a language and cultural barrier. This is offset by the incredible intensity (cant think of a better word right now) that many women (Brazilians especially) seem to have.

Thank goodness that most gentlemen don't break it down to tiers and get so antilectual

Just curious about what constitutes high mileage (how many reviews?) and why can't good looks be both

Curious as to your recommendations (this year Isabella, Piper, Harleigha, Jordan Kay, Mindi Minx, Sunnydd & Jenna)where do they stand on your level of tiers? I guess I'm still trying to figure out what your trying to say you lost a lot of it in other details

Italians are pretty good at incredible intensity too!
Terri

I'll begin by saying I may be entirely in left field with this, but the biggest difference I see is how quiet the board has become as far as sharing information.  I suspect this is because most of us are nervous about saying anything that might be construed as an admission of having done anything at all after all the drama.
An example would be my own post below.  Prior to the drama, there were several similar posts looking for information about a CL girl, and there were plenty of responses almost immediately.  In fact, some of the responses had links to reviews of the Provider in question, if memory serves.  All that has changed now.  Mine's been read more than 250 times as of this reading, and there isn't a word.  This seems to me to be very different from the TER I remember.
The price has dropped noticably, not only because it seems as if our entire economy seems as though it could collapse at any time, (I understand we dodged a nasty bullet with the Fannie and Freddie issue), not only because our local economy has left many of us with much less disposable income, but also because so many of us are simply too scared.
I don't know if this will ever change.  I suspect in a year or so, when everything has settled down and people feel more secure, more of us might come out and play again.  Perhaps until then it's best if we all just lay low.  Even the board's most prolfic poster has left without a word.
As Dylan said, "The times they are a changin'."  I'm not sure what the point of the above was, but I needed to vent somewhere, and this seemed to me to be the only place I could do so.  Thanks for taking the time to read my nonsense.

And as I stated below its not over, its just getting started. Somebody I trust told me not long ago that "round 2" might not be far off in the future.

it's still rank speculation, and it really isn't useful to post the MERE OPINION of someone whose identity you can't share with us.

are completely different animals. I actually told you to face that something exactly along these lines was 100% inevitable and you laughed at it then...how about now. Especially given the number of people at that lunch who are now actually in jail.

The "source" isn't really all that important since the realities are readily observable. Glenn's decision speaks volumes and is directly related to his involvement in this. His ties to Paul placed him squarely at ground zero and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out whats in mid process right now.

Adams arrest in this is clear indication of how deep this can run. He tried to get out back in 2005 and is still caught up in things. Just of the top of my head I can rattle of 75+ people including you with possible RICO violations.

The only question here is exactly what information was actually obtained and how far back everything goes. If in fact a recording of that long ago lunch existed it would by itself constitute a RICO event. 2+2 normally equals 4.

All you need to do is basic math here, DD was under scrutiny for a long time. This included physical, electronic and video. Actually going all the way back to 2006 when Brian (remember him) was detained by FEDERAL agents in January and Paul was under serious IRS investigation.

Now in 2005 I was speculating and I ran the other way as soon as I had any clue just what type of stupidity was starting. Right now "we" are all at ground zero and the balloon has gone up. Given the time, money & resources expended its silly to think this one just goes away.

The real question here isn't if there will be a "round 2"...but will there be a "round 4?

i knew it was going to happen sooner or later myself. for all the reasons txtoast mentions and a few i saw on my own.
you cant run around talking about things that were being talked about and shouldnt have been so publicly.

Remember that meet and greet a cpl of years ago in north phoenix? everyone was running around just talking, talking, talking, by the time i left i knew way more than i wanted to or needed to about the inner workings of all three agencies.
i wasnt even listening very hard being more interested in staring down JK's dress. damn she looked woot hawt in that little white dress but i digress.

I can only imagine what someone who was listening could have heard there and at all the others i made damn sure not to attend.

if discretion isnt your buttbuddy, your homeboy, your goddamn watchword in life it should be.

too many people simply didnt know how to keep their damn mouth shut when it actually mattered.

all of those agencies advertised escorts on the porn site that's being used in the prosecution against Divas so it would be naive to think ALL of the agencies and all of their girls haven't been contacted.

Not so sure about the girls on glens site knowing he was being controlled by the agencies and letting them advertise their girls as independents while being touted heavily as 'phoenix's one and only reliable source,' might make it the best place to plant le IMO.

Sorry if stating the obvious hurts anyone's ability to make a buck but greed was the gorilla that brought down this house.  If the truth hurts your business, you might try stepping it up instead of covering it up.

Txtoast - The beer is on me if we make it past round 4. A genuine opinion is more useful to this board than facts which are manipulated for financial gain.

I think we should STOP TALKING ABOUT THIS SITUATION ALTOGETHER! No one wants their name mentioned at this point. So please, everyone, have common sense and courtesy. Poor G _ _ _.

Talk about lack of discretion. It is great to give helpful information to all of us to help keep people out of trouble, but let's keep people's names off of the board.

Ciara,

What gets posted here is largely not relevant. Your "private business" is hardly private...in fact its much more public then anyone would care to admit. The real question is just how public...

Here is an alternative theory for this entire soap opera...

Back in 2005 Glenn posted a public comment here that took him from simply an "advertiser/publisher" and documented actual ties to other interests and outside influence. Now the key to this type of investigation is the initial proof that both a conspiracy and actual racketeering exist. Without that proof your basic civil liberties preclude most serious scrutiny. Lets assume that Glenn was the actual nexus...not Paul. That all the underlying detail was uncovered that way...realize that a lot of effort when into this....way to much to bring down a single agency owner. They could have rapped him up in a fraction of the time and money. Not a single one of the 50+ indictments was generated by public comment. If we view this as a linear event Paul/DD was the end point...now the string is being wound up in reverse order.

Obviously a lot of people are altering fundamental aspects of their lives...common sense on the what & why isn't speculation. The real key isn't what I or anyone else says in public. It's what you "the collective everyone" has said via e-mail or phone or possibly even in person to anyone involved over an unknown period of time.

Posting things like a provider being a rip-off artist, a great lady for the time spent, a warning about a rough gentleman, joking, flirting and a false review are either important or fun things to post about on this board.

I understand what you are saying, but no one wants to rehash names who might have been arrested and especially those who are still in danger. I haven't backchanneled anyone on this, because it doesn't involve me. Whether someone is truly guilty of horrendous acts, others may not be. We can read about it or watch it on the news. What you are doing by listing names is dangerous because LE watches boards like this, and perhaps some people don't want their business on a board. I agree with some of your points on certain issues, but we don't need to keep feeding the frenzy. If someone wants their personal business on a public board then allow them to post it. Why 'stir up trouble for trouble's sake'? If you value your privacy then you should respect other's too. I doubt you would want people talking about you on a public board. I didn't know Paul or Scott, nor do I care to know them. It doesn't matter who said what about whom, leave it alone.

I don't care how logical you try to sound, you are still treading on shakey ground. You don't have to be the sounding board for everyone's business. Everyone already knows what happened and it's scarey. We do not need to constantly be reminded of something that promotes more fear. All I am saying is, "Leave it alone."

I will be silent about now. :)

Hugs,
Ciara
