I've stuck around with the name "Sedona" for a long time- which isn't my real name anyway.  

It's been great for the past eight (I think) years that I've had it. There have been good times and bad.  Maybe my negative thoughts about "Sedona" stem from some not so pleasant times during the use of that name.

I've seriously contemplated a new name.  It is very symbolic for me as I am making major transformations in my life.  You will even begin to see some major changes(good ones) as I persue more of my goals.  I believe that I will even be a better friend and provider.

I am open to criticism, thoughts, and ideas for discussion on this topic. It will help me make a more sound solid decision hearing different opinions.  Thanks!

From what I know, in the "community", you are an incredible person. Kind, thoughtful, a true sweetheart and I have never used that word to describe someone. I have met you. I sensed that word from our first meeting. And still feel it in your aura when I saw you last.

If your name brings bad memories, change it. Start fresh. In your heart, you know who you are. Can't hide from that. And if you are starting a more positive journey and you feel it is needed, I am sure the folks here support it.

It is wonderful that you are pursuing goals. We all need to.

If I was to do it, I would do it ceremoniously. I would burn all references so to speak. Never speak it again with anyone or acknowledge it. And if I heard it, I would smile knowing it was the "end" of something I needed to be finished with.

Transitions are extremely hard. Perhaps the change will help you through a small piece of it. But no matter what your name is, I know it will be associated with someone who is an incredible lady.

You were well known and respected in your prior identity. You've built up tremendous recognition and "brand identity" as Sedona. So any change you make is driven by internal drive and desire. Under those circumstances any choice you make will be a good one.

When those decisions are based on negative issues specific to "product perception" then they are always deceitful and misleading IF no real change in the underlying problem/issues is untertaken.

Biggest problem I can see is fielding all the "Gee what ever happened to Sedona Weaver? questions on the various BBS's......

In a sense I did.  Most hobbiests (sp?) in the midwest would know who "Spanish Jewel" is; however, I felt as though I had undergone a type of metamorphasis and I changed most things to Jazz.  I have to say that I like Jazz better than Jasmine, the Spanish Jewel.  Although (ego stroke here    the latter was a pretty cool chick too.

As we grow within ourselves, at times I believe it is necessary to change a bit.  Change and growth are inevitable and one of the luxuries of this business is the capability to reinvent ourselves as providers.

As JDBY, who I know by a few other names as well  , so eloquently stated,  "If you feel it, change it!!!!"   I say, no matter what you do, it's all good!

apparently you want to unload some baggage with the old and take it to a higher level.i'm sure the community will support you..i've never had the pleasure of meeting you,but you appear to be top-shelf,not only in the biz but a awesome human being also..its only a name,marketing tool ..others have changed succesfully..maybe they should wiegh in..good luck!

I like the name Sterling its simple,unique like you are and describes your character inside and out!

Any name with soft "L's" in it.  They roll so delicately off the tongue.  Laura, Laurell, Lara.
Great feminine names from music and literature.  Sophisticated.

...No one who hears it will ever forget it.  And, from what I've read, no one who's had the pleasure will ever forget YOU, either.  You have a lot of good will attached to "Sedona Weaver," and you might think twice about replacing it.  But good luck with whatever name you choose, and I look forward to meeting you someday.

I'm soo sorry for the bad times you have had and the negative thoughts you feel in regards to the name "Sedona".  I am sure there must be more good than bad.  I know I and everyone here will support you with your decision, and I think it matters only in your heart to decide that, but I think we all Love the name Sedona.  I know it will always have a special place in all our hearts, especially myself.  You are such a beautiful, intelligent, and caring person and I think if choosing a new name is part of what you want to change, I know it will be beautiful

I think it is great you are opening a new chapter in your life and are pursuing new goals!  "Sedona" is not your name so there is no reason to hang on to it.  (Especially if there are negative ties to the name) Good luck on your new endeavors and I hope that what ever name you choose it will fit you well!
