I think the only way that your going to do much to stop this is by pointing out to the people what a waste of TAX DOLLARS this is.

To do that you need to do much more and also be alot more orginized then a few get togethers.

1)   find a avenue that the citizens can actually find out about this.

2) Present it in a way that does not include the streetwalkers and the drug trade. ( sadly there are what is usually the intended targets and TER woman are what its used against)

3) find actual research stats that show how much it costs the cops and courts to prosecute a single case. Then show how much time is actually involved and the fines.

4) Dig up public records of how many cases have been tried in Phoenix metro area and how many of those tried where actually convicted of the crime. ( this shows more waste.

5) Show how much is spend on this as a past time and now much the government is actually missing out on tax wise rather then fighting it.

6) show how if they made it legal they could build new roads or schools ect..... Then also have some simple rules or laws that are made so that there is a frame work so that every one is happy

7)  such as one provider per adress working on a single day, No More then two woman can share a location but they cant ork same days.  Some form of health testing ( like nevada). Ect.

If you present your case with there own evidence and figures used in a way that it works and is logical it does help. Second present the alternatives and how you can both work together.

If im not mistaken there was a huge car auction there last week. You have Golf there all the time, plus other events. These are all huge money makers for the city governments if they go about it right.

So get TV ad time... Radio spots.. interviews on the news,

to fight you have to be public about your business.

Just like your public when convicted or arrested..

We do need to stand up for our rights. I am sure I am not the only one here who is a little clueless about how to do this, but point me in the right direction and I will kick butt!!!

Yes, TV attention would be great but there's not many in the biz willing to stick their neck (and face) out there. I'm willing to but then worried about how I'll afford the lawyer I'll need if I get targeted. (I guess I'll find that out when it happens and hope that it doesn't.) All I know is that it's got to be done and very soon.

I know of an investigative reporter looking for providers busted in the last sting to interview... any takers?

Remember that when doing an investigative report that most honest news people will blur faces and change names and also tweak audio.

I am an editor and graphic artist / web designer. So if those services where needed or camera work and that kind of thing. I'm sure its not a big issue.

I got busted for being and agency owner a few yrs ago so I have dealt with the legal issues of this situation all be it in another state. But still know the jist of it and the implications and so forth.  I can tell you this it won't be a fun process thats forsure.

Email me if you need to [email protected]

The problem with blurring and name changes is that I wonder if it takes away from one's credibility. Any opinions on this are very welcome :o)

it involves having the right lobbyist getting to the right legislators who get donations at fund raisers and see the error of their ways.  In fact, the less publicity the better.  It's a political process not a public process.  Remember deals are made in the committe rooms and behind closed doors.

I was not taken in the sting but have repeatedly told people that I would be happy to put myself out there for the cause. I have no criminal record and am drug and disease free. I would like to think that there would be people supportive enough to help out with the legal issues. I do not have children to loose and I am in this business by choice not force. I know that I would likely be targeted and possibly sent to jail but what better cause? I just do not know where to go. With people behind me to help with my approach I think it could do nothing but help. I am not the best with words but I do get my point across without completely making an ass of myself. Send me in I will take the hit. Just stop talking about it and do something.

This is what I like about this idea. I never felt like there was much gain in the "raising public awareness" approach. Maybe I'm too much of a cynic but even if the public agrees with us, don't expect letters to congressmen and marches in the streets because unless they are hobbyists or in this business it just does not effect their little world as directly as it does us. In fact, probably the only people that public awareness campaign is likely to mobilize are those that are against us.

Even if the heated election we had this year,  Arizona was second to the last in voter turnout, so I would not rely on the citizen support to help us out.

Maybe we should form an association and throw our support for those that oppose us. In this days of public officials running for office under the "Traditional American Values" ticket, what public official would want the endorsement of "The Association of Hobbyists and Providers" behind them, lol!!. They might well be willing to play ball with us, if only to make us go away :).

Cynic or realist, I'll let you be the judge.

My point is this.. If you dont get a ground swell of support you will get fucked over in the pack rooms. Unless all of us want to anty up an insane amount of cash and freee sessions to the swine pigs we elect.

These people are all bought and paid for. Perfect example is John McCain before moving to this state and the last elcection I though he was a free thinker . Now I am sure he cut a back yard deal to save his own ass so that Bush did not wipe the mat with him. He and every other politician are about the money and the power. Reality is that to win you need to raise millions of dollars and probably give alot of politco's  BBBJ and some hanky panky.

Basically you would need to out alot of ( political Clientel) and make them or force them to vote your way.

Honestly what your talking about when your speaking of a lobbiest is just some one that knows the politician and basically bribes them to vote your way. I would guess on this board alone we have 20-30 lobbiest that work another house chamber so to speak. Unless this state is completely A sexual.

Remember that Republican Morman ass holes are pushing this. The problem that politicians face is it is political suicide to stand up and say "Paying for pussy is OK."

After having seen a previous thread some days ago, I contacted some well connected AZ lobbyists (I'm not from AZ) and they are interested in the idea.  It's likely to be a simple "dont let this see the light of day" conversation by professional lobbyists with everyone's anonymity protected.  But, nothing is free.  I'll be discussing the details w/ Mya in early March when I visit Phx.  Send me a PM if you're seriously interested in financial support and/or send your ideas to Mya.
