If you set up a website with your pictures on it and use and alias, whats the differance? Maybe to be able to partition yourself off from what you are doing? I know, pyscho babble.

I never understood why anyone woud use an alias anyhow, unless they wanted to hide from LE. Or maybe they just don't like there nic. Lol. I belive we all had a choice when we joined the site to pick our own nic. But that's just one lonely guys
opinion.

well, I must say... I started posting under Queen of Hearts as an alias initially as a kind of joke. You know the man hater she was... not to mention the off with thier head thing. I didn't really expect everyone to get such a good laugh out of her. I guess my alias was just an extension of my personality... (my alter ego) LOL... I found it kind of fun... and I will probably continue to use her now and again. I am not sure about where everyone elses aliases came from, but hey to each there own. I mean for all we know some of the guys could be the ones posting... or is there a way to tell? HMMMM....

I agree Mya.

But I do understand that some people want to comment but don't want their identity know.

Anyone who knows me, knows my handle, knows it's me when I post.

Just my opinion...

I have to admit that I struggled with this issue myself.  There are some issues (drugs, streetwalkers, bisexuality...whatever) that a post in a certain direction could affect the opinion of people who you might want to see, either as a client or a provider.  It doesn't mean these people are bad people...they could possibly just be "unenlightened".  As such, I posted under an alias a few times on scenarios like this.  I had a talk with a lady I respect at some point, and she convinced me to take your position on it, and I am glad that she did, as I finally realized that if I might be judged on a controversial post I make, regardless of all the other posts I have made, then it is okay, because there are plenty of like-minded fish in the ocean.

As for providers, I have known some who have done this sort of thing when relative to "touchy" subjects for them or their business (like client issues), but I look at someone like you, or the lady I talked with, or someone like Michelle in LA (who would likely be frank with her own grandmother...lol), and I think it can be done.  It just sometimes might take a lot of tactful wording.  However, if I see a post by a likely provider alias on a one time issue that could be taken badly by her clients, I can accept that.

The only scenario I really disagree with are providers who ONLY post under an alias or post without revealing their identity.  Given the sort of forum this is, it is tacky to me to see someone who supposedly is in the business and is in this forum, who won't share her business identity with someone who might read and appreciate her posts and subsequently have an interest in booking her.  Thankfully, though, there are only a couple of women I know like this, and one is now retired.

I will say, though, that I respect your attitude.  Just remind me not to upset you. :P

Because one's original handle is similar to someone else's.  For example, there are two exoticdoll websites and I get her mail sometimes and vice versa.  I don't want someone to think I made a comment when I didn't and I'm sure she feels the same way.

That's true, to each their own and really, why be judgmental? :)  I don't see anyone's safety at risk.  My feeling is that people should be able to do what they want to do as long as they don't infringe on someone else's right to do so.

TER would be very boring indeed if aliases weren't allowed. As a provider, my number one reason for posting is for business.  This is not an AOL chat room where no one knows you have a web site and you can say whatever whacky or controversial thing you want.

If all I ever posted about were new pics and specials, I would never need to use an alias.

But, since this is a discussion board, sometimes interesting questions come up that I would like to give truthful answers to. If I couldn't use an alias, I couldn't say anything (for fear of possibly offending potential clients by being honest on controversial topics). How boring is that if no one discusses anything interesting?

For example, sometimes guys are curious if women prefer circumcised men to uncircumcised, or if we truly prefer men who are better endowed. How about guys with hairy backs--is that OK or awful? Do we care if you are Republican or Democratic?

A provider may have a personal preference to the above questions, but why would she drive away clients by telling her preference using her real name? Especially since, despite her PERSONAL preference, in the BUSINESS world she will happily see all kinds of men anyway (if they are polite and clean.)

Sometimes I see aliases used to make rude remarks, and that's wrong. Most people discount those posts, anyway, I think.

Otherwise, I say keep the aliases, and keep TER interesting!

I didn't mean that you WERE upset...just that you are, in your own words, a "straight shooter" with a lot of intensity, so I just want to make sure I never MAKE you upset...at me! :)

I respect your frankness, actually.

Which is MY choice! If, you want everyone to know who YOU are than that is YOUR choice!  The reason I use an alias, is because I can, and it's MY choice to do so.
