What to do???  A year ago I was in a bad accident which left me in a coma for over a week and in the hospital for 3 weeks.
Obviously there was no way to contact my ATF, a regular weekly companion, who had no way of knowing about my situation.  Does anyone have any suggestions for a discreet means of notifying those unknown to the family???  Thanks

Pre-empt the situation.  If she is an ATF let her know if you ever drop out that is likely an accident or death.  Kind of you to anticipate so she won't go into panic mode.  If none of the above apply, when you go back to her she will likely be relieved and overjoyed.

Contact her again, explain what happened.

She'll be thrilled to hear from you again and now you'll have a new battle scar(s)!  Perhaps she can trace them with her lips!

Good luck luv,  good to hear you're able to play now that you've recovered!
