I think you've got it, I was actually in the parking lot of the motel and it felt entirely too conspicuous. Between being nervous about it (first time and all) and seeing quite a few people walking around, it didn't make for a very good situation. Thanks for the tip on parking offsite! The reason I didn't turn around was that she called while I was driving, and I know this may sound weird but I do not like to talk on the phone while driving. I pulled over and tried to call her back but she was leaving me a voice mail. To make a long story short, I ended up going home from not being able to get a hold of her, but she contacted me again about an hour later and offered a discount with her apologies for what happened (another hobbyist who she felt stayed considerably beyond his time - a good reminder to me to avoid making that mistake, though hardly needed). I, of course, went back at the new time and met the lady. Thanks for the response!

Hi everyone, I'm really knew to the hobby but I've been lurking around reading up on FAQs for Newbies and a few other places. I felt confident enough to try to setup an appointment with a provider who has a handful of good, current reviews on here. I was able to setup the appointment a couple hours ahead, was given the location of the hotel but when I got there on time I tried to call/text (appointment was setup via texting) and no answer. I waited around for about 10 minutes, tried calling again and still no answer. I figured I had been stood up, so I got in my car and started driving away. Of course, that's when she sends me a text asking for 5 mins and then she calls.

So my questions (please keep in mind I am still very new to the hobby) should I have waiting for more then 10 minutes? Or was I right to get suspicious after no response? Also, should I submit a review for this provider despite the fact that nothing took place?

Any thoughts or suggestions for future would be appreciated, after a first time like this...makes me reluctant to try again in the near future but any suggestions would be appreciated!

P.S. I hope I posted in the right place!

Hard to really know, but as someone who's been doing this awhile, 10 minutes is really not a long time.
Hobbying can be like the civi world in that regard, ladies always run late! I've waited way longer than 10 minutes (Read my reviews).  Not sure where you were waiting, but you mention getting back in your car. I hope it wasn't in the lobby or the parking lot.  I usually park away from the hotel and make the second call off property.  If I get the dreaded VM or no reply to a text, I usually head to a convenience store or a coffee shop to kill some time.

Now back to what might have happened, the lady may have been in the shower,  or blow drying her hair, or on another call, or maybe even finsihing with another hobbyist. You just never know.  I'm guessing your nerves may have gotten the better of you. Waiting around, I can only imagine what you might have been thinking.

May I ask, since she called you back why didn't you circle around and meet the lady.   I have some great dates after the lady has kept me waiting. Sometimes they feel bad and give it some extra effort.

You cannot submit a review since you didn't have a date.

I don’t disagree with Hidden but I don’t like waiting either. Yes there can be extenuating circumstances and I probably would have turned around as well and enjoyed. Especially if it is a lady I have seen or have been drooling to see. But when it’s 110 out, it’s hard to hang around for long.
And Hidden your right, there have been times the wait was rewarded with a great effort on the providers part, a little extra time and even the offer of a bit of a reduced donation. But most times there was communication from the provider of the delay first. The provider has communicated that. I do find it frustrating when the calls go unanswered for 10 or 15 minutes.
But this is a 2 way street you know. Most providers are adamant in on their web sites about bring on time and I respect that and I am always punctual. Also if there is a situation where I am going to be late, I call and let them know.
So DW: try again with the same lady, find a comfortable place to park for a bit and then enjoy. If you’re on a tight schedule mention that as well when setting the appointment.

ten minutes isnt too bad of a wait...sometimes we lose track of time or the clock is set fast so we think we have more time to freshen up for you :) But 15-30mins is questionable...I would say DONT wait that long since its just plain rude to keep anyone waiting that long with no form of communication going on. Also, we are on a schedule just like you are and sometimes it gets messy....just keep in mind we DO want to see you!

A short wait isn't too bad, if there is communication. If the provider schedules appointments so close together that they run into each other, I cross her off my list. If the only thing between me and the last guy is a baby wipe, I'm not comfortable with that.

I like a girl with a fresh out the shower smell, not the cover-up body spray odor... But that's just me...
