You might consider joining p411 as the  provider ads will indicate if the provider is newbie friendly.

Welcome to the hobby. I recommend keep trying. Some providers are really great at responding and some are just awful.

Not only will you have a better idea of prices, the P411 process indicates you are on a more serious level than some schmoe time-waster blowing up an email or text.   It also weeds out a lot of flakes that other places advertise.   Take time, and Be safe!  

All good info! And welcome! We were all newbies at one point. Nothing wrong with being a newbie as long as you're comfortable with the screening process. Sometimes a super discreet work verification goes a long way.

Try a few days or more in advance

I'm new to this board (but not new to the game).

I think there has been some good advice given so far...

I would add to make your initial contact at least a few days (maybe even a week) in advance, I know for me, I'm booked solid almost 10 days in advance, so I can't accommodate last minute requests.

So, making contact with more advance notice gives the provider more time to manage the leg work of getting you verified.

Another vote for P411, I agree and say that when I receive a message through P411 I will respond the quickest because usually those are the most respectful & gentlemen-ly gentlemen, and most serious about actually booking!
