I have made that drive 70 to 80 times over the years, and unless your hauling ass at 90 plus don't expect to get there under 5 hours. That is as long as you don't get stuck in the traffic jams at Henderson and Kingman on your way back and don't forget they are always working on that road somewhere. I just came back from there about two months ago and left around noon on Sunday and the traffic was so bad and road work in kingman that it took me 8 hours to get back to Phoenix. I will be in PHX soon and looking to have a wonderfully pleasant lady to hang out with me on a trip to LV to see a Cirque show (I'm a huge Cirque fan). I'm not a gambler. I agree - spring for a room - probably lots more takers... I understand sometime you gotta go with what the schedule permits - but does sound a little grueling (IMHO)...

That's a good 5 hour drive and it used to be littered with white crosses along the way. Its a road you do not drive after being up all day. I had a buddy go off the road, got a speeding ticket for doing 60 mile an hour over the speed limit. But the speed limit is 60, ya but the speed limit is zero when your sleeping. They were both lucky to live.
It's been some years sinve I made the drive so I dont remember the driving time. But I do remember thinking, wow......that was not too far/long of a drive.

I could never say yes to being in the car that long with a man I have never met there needs to be some kind of chemistry prior to the trip with no sleep. What was the incentive?

I'll have to think about that option. Some thoughts that's come to my mind with the fly out arrangment are:
- That same "boring" could be had during dinner and show with a perfect stranger....for the additional expense of the plane ride.
- I have, on several occasions, arranged for ladies to fly out to my business travel locations and it has worked out well. However, as you note, we had a history/chemistry/vibe before crossing into extended stay territory. And the stay was for 2 days at least.
- I could just as easy contract with a lady in LV and execute the dinner, show, and "desert" outing. However, I like the idea of the drive as I'm a road dog anyway. I am considering the need to have the vibe component cause you're right if there is no above average connection between us then it will make for a very long appointment. With that said, I am somewhat of an adventurer so there is a level of excitement that this type of arrangement has for me.
Also, I'm not hard to get along with as I'm drama free and don't take myself too seriously. So, if some breakdown in communication or, personality or, whatever should occur a parting of the ways would need to be executed......
You might be an experienced hobbyist but you have no clue about that drive! Somebody mentioned about about all the white crosses along the road - there's a reason they're out there. It's more like a 5 to 6 hour drive each way.

My "mutual orgasm" comments were more in jest than reality. I was not planning on pulling over on the side of the road and "hittin it." Some "nookie" before we leave and when we got back would suffice and the lady could sleep as long as she likes in the car on the way back and in my room when we get back to PHX as I do have business to tend to the mid morning after our return.
