Question for the AZ locals....

I don't really have any true experience with this party nor have I ever actually been on Lake Havasu-- but I boat heavily in AZ and from what I have heard lately the cops have really cut back on the partying that used to take place on the sandbar.  Due to the heavy drinking, drug use, fights, and boating accidents (few years back several high speed boating accidents-- with some fatalities) they even closed the sand bar on the three day weekends (labor day; memorial day, etc.).  to stop the bad behavior.  I would really research on the boating websites (offshore only, etc) to make sure that the party you are expecting to get into still really goes on....just .02....

If anyone has ever attended could you please PM me or email me with your opinion.

Juls,

This is a swingers event put on by associates of Lifestyle Lounge. The party itself is a little bit better and upscale than say 75% of swingers events, but obviously nothing like the top ten events that really are elite and sexy.

The City of Havasu started cracking down seriously a few years ago. Its an immediate ticket for flashing without pasties now. They hand out DUI's like candy on the lake itself. The Sandbar is now off limits and shut down. The Canyon is heavily patrolled and always a disaster. I did notice that they say they have a party at the Sandbar so maybe they re-opened it.

They now have a 33 or 35 foot maximum length in the channel. They also have a selectively enforced noise ordinance for loud boats depending on their attitude that weekend.  The party takes place in the middle of summer so its an already busy weekend. You cannot keep your boat in the channel over night so you vie for space with everyone. Its not uncommon to need to have your boat in the channel no later than 8 am to be able to park it on the sand.

Finally, and I don't mean this with any disrespect BUT the crowd in general has really changed. The economy has made its presence known. It used to be you had a very upscale young wild crowd on the lake. You zipped over here and you zipped over there and you spent a few hours here or there and then decided where you wanted to stay. The crowd now seems younger, and certainly less affluent. Many are very nice fun kids, some are not. It seems that nobody zips around the lake anymore, they don't want to spend the money on gas. They just go to the channel and hang out and get drunk. The LL folks are usually very fun and nice folks.

I have fun each time I go to Havasu, but its really changed. The LL crowd is always fun, and usually their parties are good. Worst case its a HOT summer day and there should be lots or really cute guys and girls to look at.

Have a blast.
