Seriously - my cat's canned food is on the list.  She was sick yesterday but seems fine today.  Has anyone else dealt with this pet food recall and their pet?

Not industry related - sorry but she is like my baby to me and trying to find out as much as possible.

I read about it online in a Swedish newspaper, but they never said what companies that were affected, just the mother company that was not known to me. What pet food would be affected?

Hi Anna,

Here's the link to more info on the recall including what brands are affected.

Seems to be mostley the meat in gravy style stuff.

Hope this helps and your pet's food is not on the list.

If you have any of the canned food NOT just certain lot numbers DO NOT FEED it to you animals.  I just came from the vet and we believe we caught this early enough that she will recover.  But know that the food is bad.

Next will be the lawsuit to recover all of my vet bills I have AND WILL be incurring over the next few weeks thanks to this bad food.

But most importantly is everyone know that the food is bad and even if the animal seems fine go have them checked.

Here is the link for the Iams food ONLY - which is one of about 48 wet canned cat and dog food items in the recall.  DO NOT FEED IT to your animals - it will make them sick.

I hope your cat is on the mend. I suggest you save your food packaging and vet receipts. You will need those items as evidence in any claim or litigation you may want to pursue.

She is actually doing much better.  The vet seems to think she is going to pull through,  We caught it early and obviously am no longer feeding her the poisoned food that was sold.

It is scarey to think that one company has that much control of providing pet food to the US.
